The Importance of Language Essay

Language is the key to tolerance. Language is the center of human activity, self-expression, and identity. Recognizing that people value their own language can promote genuine participation in development and thus achieve lasting results. This is the importance of language essay in which this topic will be briefly considered.

People's language is very important to them. People communicate through language, share meaning and experience their personal and community identity. The loss of language and culture is often accompanied by huge human and social costs, such as poverty, poor health, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and suicide. Recognizing that people's emphasis on language is the basic idea to solve the problems of poverty and hunger. This is an important part of the transition from a 'top-down' development model that has been proven infeasible to a generally effective participatory development model. Appropriate participatory development will bring better results in the short and long term. According to the research, the success rate of development projects that seek beneficiary participation is 68%, while the success rate of failed projects is only 10%.

Obviously, real participation is based on two-way communication, which means interacting with the language that people actually use. This requires consideration and planning at the political and practical level. National and international exchange plans or documents that are important to poverty reduction are rarely expressed in clear language. This means that insufficient attention has been paid to the special circumstances of the special problems faced by minority languages in the integration process. Promoting mother-tongue-based education can help reduce alienation and conflict. It can better prepare children to learn national and international languages and improve their overall performance. For example, Finland is a leader in mother tongue education and academic achievement of secondary school students. Sustainable development requires the participation of all groups, especially ethnic minorities who depend on healthy ecosystems for their survival and future. However, the distance of ethnic minorities from power, decision-making centers, and world languagesmakes them vulnerable to rejection and marginalization.

In conclusion to importance of language in our life essay, language plays an important role in the participation of ethnic minorities in the development process. Researchers who are concerned about the importance of language to the sustainable development of communities in Namibia and Indonesia point out that lack of interaction with minority languages will only increase the exclusion of ethnic minorities.
