The Magnificent Side of Visiting Libraries

Growing up, libraries were my favorite place to visit. I remember sitting cross-legged on the carpeted floor in the middle-grade section reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It was the day when I first time I visited a library and fell in love with it. My dream of becoming a writer sparked the second I stepped in and was taken aback by a beautiful site in front of me. It was a place full of wonders for me. Libraries are full of books, but that's not all. They not only offer books that people can borrow and read, but there's also free internet service for everyone to enjoy. It's a place where people connect; students hold their study sessions, a community gathers and where your history is preserved. It's like a museum of sorts.

Libraries are a community's important focal point that serves as centers of learning, professional development, healthcare, and now, resistance. Public libraries play a very important role in everyone's life by giving them access to free educational material. It doesn't matter if you don't have any money because everything there is free of charge including books, internet access, training programs, etc.

There were a lot of programs such as book clubs, classes, and storytime for children that fostered friendships between people and brought me to the community. I have noticed that people don't visit libraries a lot anymore because now they've got it all in the palm of their hands. Everything is just a touch away. Ever since eBooks came to being, people have found it easier to download the book electronically in any format they want like pdf, epub, Mobi, they have a choice. No longer do they need to carry heavy books back and forth when they can just have it on their smart devices or computer.

When you think of books, a lot of genres come to your mind. There's romance, historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, middle grade, magical realism, thrillers, romantic suspense, graphic novels, humor, horror, mythology, satire, fable, fairy tale, etc. All of this falls under fiction while memories, self-help books, poetry, essay, autobiography, and biography fall under nonfiction. Apart from all of this you can also find manuscripts, films, maps, prints, documents at a library.

Libraries are my favorite place and I think that they are important because they affect culture, innovation, novelty and people. Libraries truly hold the community together, even if we don't know it. The significance of the library lingers because it's not only about physical books which might or might not fade one day, but because it ultimately people matter and it's about them and their brilliant ideas.
