Another reason why having SEO is important is because most users are likely to trust the top results. The last reason to why having Search Engine Optimization is important because without it no one would bother to look at your website and your competitors would have an edge over you.

There are advantages and disadvantages to search engine optimization the first advantage to using Search engine optimization is the fact that it is 24/7 promotion so anyone can see your product. Once a business ranks high in search engines, google will promote your business while you are sleeping. Another advantage to a business using SEO is because if you are ranked high on the internet more people will be influenced to spend money with you for example of you are in the top 3 searches on Google you are more likely to make sales compared to another page who is in the top 10 searches. The last advantage to using SEO is that it is much better than Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. This is because organic SEO listings receive 90% of clicks. People who use search engines tend to skip paid advertisements. This is because of their trust in Google’s algorithm. Investing in SEO, will help your business to gain more traffic than the advertisers with the same key words.

There are also disadvantages that come with using SEO the first disadvantage and also the biggest disadvantage of SEO is that results don't come over night. It can take several months before a site will start to move up the Search engine results pages. Success isn't guaranteed or instant unlike PPC. The next disadvantage to using SEO is that it can be very time consuming, the techniques used by an SEO specialist can take several hours to complete when it is done properly. The last disadvantage to using SEO is that you must adapt to change for example search engines change their algorithms to get more accurate results, this means one day a business could be the number one ranked on the search results age and then the next day they could be at the bottom.
