The Problems With Veterans Care In Usa

The care toward our veterans may be protected but if it’s seen from their view it has become a disaster. The aid has been pushed off for so long and it must come to a stop. The veterans have earned the society's trust and lawful aid of what they need. This is a social issue because the men and women that risked their lives should deserve the support they need. Many of the people it affects are men, women, the older generation, the younger generations, the physically disabled, the mentally disabled and the families of these veterans. This then also affects how those veterans are able to get or contribute to a job after they have left the service. Served veterans have also fallen into the category of homelessness.

Who and What and Why is this happening

The community of people this has affected are women, men, all nationalities and families. What is the medical care that is taken from our veterans you may ask? For example, Mr. Lanham writes that these are just a few of the department failing a getting all veterans what they need, are “VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona”. The other department that was caught in this act was “Department of Medical Affairs medical facility in South Carolina”. What is mean is these certain departments were not giving this care to these veterans which all in result made some of them pass away. Now we also may want to know why is this happening. Furthermore, Ms. Rein says “Medical errors are up at the VA hospitals”.

How are the Vets affected and what specific veteran areas are affected by the VA

There are many ways the vets are affected by the VA. To illustrate how the vets are affected Ms. Steele argues “Why are veterans still homeless in San Diego?” . She was fighting with “the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to create vouchers for the veterans to get them off the streets and into at least an apartment”. And going back to Mr. Lanham’s article, it states “the Department of Medical Affairs medical facility didn’t care or give any type of medical supply to a veteran named Barry Coast, which he was later diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer that had spread to his liver and to his lungs” . This example is being used because it’s a very important topic that not having this care cause a man his life. It’s very important to have this can of care for veterans or anyone because no one should have to lose a life just because the VA and Department of Medical Affairs medical facility didn’t have the heart to help these other people.

Some different groups that are affected by the VA and the Department of Medical Affairs are almost all. For instance, Ms. Hooyer explains “if mentally disordered or culturally displaced has the different transformations of personhood in US military veterans” (Hooyer). For example, Ms. Hooyer writes “Medical experts claim that Posttraumatic Stress Disorder among the United States” (Hooyer) had created a large amount of the change for the medical care for these veterans. For instance, Donna L.; Villa, Valentine; Brown, Arleen; Damron-Rodriguez, JoAnn; Harada, Nancy explains “the racial and ethnic are used against the veterans by the VA. Blacks, Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islander veterans were less likely to get automatic care from the VAthan Whites” (Racial/Ethnic Variations in).

How it’s changed

Now the change to Veterans getting the care they need is now starting to come forth. Furthermore, Mr. Kinosian, Mr. Stallard and Mr. Wieland say “they are projecting the use of long-term care services for enrolled veterans”. For example, Mr. Kinosian, Mr. Stallard and Mr. Wieland write “enrolling projects to combined nursing homes and community long-term-care services”. This will put in a place where non-mobile veterans are able to live or just need so help like a retirement home. They would be able to have long-term care until they pasted and wouldn’t have to worry about the next month or year to plan on what is going to happen. For another example, Mr. Philipps writes “how veterans are taking a stand to urge Trump to keep Obama’s V.A. Secretary after the long-term changes. It makes it so he can’t as easily fire the federal worker with the veteran so they can have a plan to have this care.

Conclusion

The veterans that didn’t have life or plan for the later life can have these changes now. Those of the people it affects can now learn of the change today. Yes the VA didn’t do a good job a caring for the veterans medically and physically. It still does happen right now and so people take action and some don’t but there are some resources that may help veterans that have lost that regain what they have left. Finally, some of the changes may have been made but we will still always have to stand to what is right have that option to have a plan or not.
