Looking at these articles I have found major flaws in all these cooperation’s; Nike, Apple and the Diamond Industry. Do you really want to buy products from companies that continue to use forceful labor and allow poor working environments? Nike has been put responsible for hiding its business incentives from the very beginning. Workers from kids to adults are being institutionalized and forced to work in conditions that are not acceptable for the work place. Because of their age, these workers are naïve to how the work place should properly run, explaining why they are so willing to work. Nike’s workers are afraid of the outcome that they will be faced with, if they do not meet the expectations enforced heavily by the entire Nike cooperation. Even though Nike has faced bad imagery at the start of its globalization, it continued to face many problems throughout its production.

After many Americans heard of the news, they started to question Nike and how it was running its business, leading to many protests. The way Nike responded was exhilarating. They stopped using child labor in their factories and started enforcing better policies that factories had to follow. Nike was trying to give back to all kids that they did wrong, treating them with more respect. Nike even stopped buying goods from, Saga Sports. Due to the high demands that the World cup offered in 2006, Saga Sports started producing Nike footballs at nearby locations to make sure it met Nike’s requirement. But with the demands so high, Nike refused to give back the production of equipment, for it would be an investment loss of one hundred million dollars. By recalling all items imported into the U.S, they were forced to sell the products that were made under faulty guidelines in fear that they would lose that asset of $100,000,000.

Every country follows their own guidelines and principles to ensure how the workplace may be potentially based on their own course of guidelines and principles. As an American, you know that child labor is wrong and punishable in the workplace. On the other hand, if a company follows its demands in America and chooses a company to work with outside America, there guidelines and principles may be different but we choose these companies because they are assets and benefit to our intangibles. As a company in the United States, you pave the path for yourself instead of allowing other companies to create that path for you. As a Business owner, you can’t control how other cooperation’s manufacture their product, but you can choose who and where you purchase your merchandise from. And for that reason, most companies choose to work with other countries for their own financial beneficiaries. If they choose to work with American factories, they are losing that “cheap labor” and “production cost” but are creating that high demand for jobs in America. All in all, it is hard to change such monopolies because you are either supporting your country with jobs or you’re finding cheap labor in foreign countries like Apple has in the past.

There are many companies in America, that are abusing its power with foreign trade. For example: Apple has been assembling its products in china, while manufacturing it’s essential assets in other parts of the world; South Korea and japan. Mean, while the Trump Administration wanted to discuss with China, over their three hundred and seventy five billion dollars in extra quantity goods, but after a recent discover was founded as false and misleading with apple. The trump administration, decided to figure out what was actually going on and according to china, apple has not provided the right ventilation system for the gases within there factories in China.

Another reason why apple is no longer producing goods in China, is their harsh work environment. Apple has not provided their employees with the right chemical’s masks and cloths, creating a very harsh and toxic work environment for their employees to work within. According to Bloomberg Lp, Apple has been having “problems with some machines being too noisy recording at 80 decibels or more, which is equivalent to an average garbage disposal. The machines in the factory also spray tiny metallic particles or coolant in the factory” (Bloomberg News 1). The workers in the factory are terrified of what the consequence, would be if they were heard speaking badly about apple’s work environment. The Bloomberg post talks about how workers only make around $583.29 dollars every month, which is estimated at two dollars an hour. That is well under its paygrade in stance for what America’s wages are and apple knows that. But in China that kind of money is so valuable that, it’s worth the harsh working environments for apple. Making it the soul reason why apple likes to manufacture its products in china, where the U.S. dollar is worth more than the china’s dollar, which goes by yuan’s. Apple understands that if they work with foreign countries it will make their cost of production, lower and their profit margin, higher. This is the reason why apple was of the very first trillion-dollar companies.

With South Korea, Japan, and China only estimating manufacturing costs at three hundred and seventy dollars and twenty-five cents to build the iPhone, which is then sent to the United States and sold between 500-1,000 dollars making Profits high for apples cooperation. Although apple is making a huge profit from us uneducated Americans; they are doing so because we want their product. Their ads get us to think about what are heart desires and even though we buy a new iPhone, we don’t think about what is better, we just think bigger is better. But we should instead, think about why we are buying ourselves a new phone that costs a thousand dollars and ask ourselves if we are getting ripped off by apples nonsense. But instead we think about what we want, instead of what we need.

There are many companies that are driven by the number on the dollar rather than the face on the people they are hurting. In the jungles of the Congo, lied the riches for all major tech cooperation’s in the world. These companies thought they were above the governments control killing millions of incident people. These slaves worked through blood, sweat, and tears manufacturing are products in the mining industry. Throughout most of Asia; gold and diamonds are distributed amongst the worlds biggest tech companies and jewelers. These jewels are what divide the middle class from the wealthy. With hardly any enforcement by the legislation, these products are very easily distributed across the world, making them a force that needs to be reckoned with. With slavery, keeping the operations running at ease. The supply chain industry in the Democratic Republic of Central Africa, faces a new problem. There is now certain criteria that the Congo has to provide to the legislation. These new set of laws are going to be set in place to help control what is being exported out of the jungles of the Congo and into other parts of Asia as well. Because of these new rules, with legislation passing new laws to stop these traffics. They now have to provide the legislation with approximately and precisely where the minerals are being taken out of the ground and where they are being transported too. Because of these courses of actions. They are going to have to be done through the supply chain industry.

Due to the war crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it has been the cause of death for nearly five million and four hundred thousand people, sense 1998. Because of the war reaching out in to their own backyard, they have become enslaved to their own town. Most of these slaves are being held at gun point while operations and mining are being taken place. These slaves work roughly 12-24 hours a day, day and night. Sometimes the slaves have to walk fixity kilometers, caring priceless metals on their back. Women, men, and even children have to go through this unbearable and rigorous journey through the Congo, just to stay alive. Because the firms did not know how these products were being produced. Whenever they asked for a large quantity of goods, it made the all those slaves work harder and harder, tell they were out of air.

As we take a closer look of what is going on in today’s culture. We see that companies don’t always know how their business is getting their product, but we see how these companies are generating and changing with different outlooks and ideas. Although each company has different vision for how they are getting their product in the supply chain industry. We need to look at new rules and better guidelines moving forward. Companies are taking the initiative too look farther into the industries that they are investing and buying their products from. With deeper investigations being led, by central Africa. Legislative wants to know where the location of the mines are located, to guarantee that these industries are not being abused by the fortified terrorists that once ran the Congo’s in central Africa. Although you may think that we buy our products based upon price evaluation, we don’t; The soul reason we buy a product is based on the brand that we best like.

Let’s compare and contrast these two companies. Apple and Samsung; both invented a new kind of phone, with out of this world technology, but Apple seems to sell more. Why is that? Well that’s easy question, see Apple’s engineers make an iPhone so that anyone can use it. A 4-year-old isn’t smart because he knows how to use the iPhone, the engineers are smart for making a four-year-old able to use the iPhone, correctly. This created more of a demand for apple products. For example: When apple introduced the iPad, it generated a huge amount of profits, because the people who were buying these products were the kids that weren’t able to have an iPhone yet. As apple continues to struggle with the burden, it has caused china. They have created falsification’s like Nike has down in the past. Even though Nike was faced under a lot of pressure, with Sweatshop and child labors. Which was the leading factor, for the American public to draw back on buying merchandise from Nike. This led to altercations, which then ended in riots. At this point it was collapsing, but seemed to have the ability and the initiative to turn the cards over and try again on a new slate. That was Until 2006 when Nike fell again, with the same scandal that led them to fall in the first place.

In addition to the downfall that Nike had with Saga Sports. Jewelry companies started to face the same thing when it came to how their business is being operated. Unlike Nike, the Diamond Industry in Africa was the cause of death for millions of people. Although Nike bought its merchandise from bad companies that were mistreating their employees for European tech companies that were buying there merchandise that people panned for and even died for. Because of this dilemma, companies needed to rethink the lines of where they were buying their product from and create a new plan. To know how and where their merchandise was and how it was being used. This led to a better supply chain and better policies that many people appreciated, across the world.
