The Trainers Academy Initiative In Kuwait

Being part of training sector has become a passion for many young Kuwaitis who seeks to develop themselves on both professional and financial levels. There is no doubt that this sector like other business sectors, carries a lot of sufficient details, secrets and success standards needed to achieve desired results. These details and standards are usually absent in some way or another from those who wish to become trainer, whether due to lack of knowledge and experience, or access to international standards in training. Therefore, I found that there was a need within the trainers’ community to create a CSR program to spread awareness and experience among trainers’ community that can help them to become better trainers, gain experience and mastering international standards.

The Kuwaiti Trainers Academy is the first national initiative to qualify, classify and empower 100 Kuwaiti trainers according to the international standards of the Canadian PCT system, and with the strategic support of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences.

The aim of the Academy is to qualify, classify and empower 100 Kuwaiti trainers according to the international quality standards and classification (PCT). The standards are one of the most important and most accurate international classification standards. Training by long experienced cadres. It aims at forming a nucleus of Kuwaiti trainers capable of upgrading the training profession with highly qualified staff according to 3 stages of international rehabilitation, professional development and empowerment in the job. It is worth mentioning that the Kuwaiti Academy of Trainers started on 30 July 2017 and extends to July 30, 2018. The project built on a performance measurement criterion to assure the qualification of the trainer by the end of the first stage as a panel consisting of 3 experts and advanced trainers supervised the performance evaluation for each participant based on training delivery and essential Trainer 13 Skills throw 10 minutes performing test.

In light of my reading and attending the Ethics and Social Corporate Responsibilities course, the following will discuss the initiative from stakeholder theory and the CSR European Commission definition respectively. Stakeholder theory said “A company’s real success lies in satisfying all its stakeholders, not just those who might profit from its stock. It considers corporate environment as an ecosystem of related groups, all of whom need to be considered and satisfied to keep the company healthy and successful in the long-term”.

In this case, as a small business owner and entrepreneur, the company working in training and consultation sector were its need to deal with both trainers and customers. Therefore, the initiative helps stakeholders to have better quality that satisfy all parties such as trainers received free training, mentorship, accreditation, experience throw whole year. Customers have more options, measurable standards and better quality trainers. Sponsors, Social innovative idea that is in line with CSR strategy. Government, to develop the Kuwaiti human resources and more Kuwaiti work in the private sector. Trainers, create and develop new career path for our fellow participants. Ecosystem, to inject 100 new Kuwaiti trainers to the market will enhance the competitive in the market, and finally, the company owner’s benefits from raising brand awareness, building relation with decision makers, coverage in the media and satisfy customer need.

On the other hand, “European Commission definition of CSR said Corporate social responsibility (CSR) refers to companies taking responsibility for their impact on society. So, the initiative has an impact on the market, were more than 500 application applied but the duty was to select the most qualified candidates based on the standards implemented for the selection process. Also, the impact was from the trainers themselves as they start to compare previous experience with the quality standards and experience from the current initiative.

The European Commission believes that CSR is important for the sustainability, competitiveness, and innovation of EU enterprises and the EU economy. It brings benefits for risk management, cost savings, access to capital, customer relationships, and human resource management”. The Kuwaiti Trainers Academy created a social innovation program as its provide a novel solution to a social problem and present efficient, effective and sustainable solution to the training sector and been benefit by company stakeholders.
