Abstract

Keywords: Projector, Learning Acquisition, Modern Visual Aids, Technology, Computer.

Every teachers have their own ways in teaching their students. Some of them uses the traditional way of teaching which is using chalkboards or whiteboards. Before chalkboards are the most reliable thing to use in teaching, the teachers uses their own money on producing their own chalks, erasers and even their visual aids. The teachers spend a lot of time creating their own visual aids for them to use in teaching. It’s also dangerous, because it can harm the students or the teachers if they inhaled chalk dust. But by the time goes by the technology influenced the strategies on how the teachers teach their students.

Now the teachers uses the modern way of teaching using technologies. They usually uses projectors in teaching their students because it’s easy to use and easy to make. It can help the students to be active in learning because some of them enjoys learning while using technology. It makes students enjoy seeing, hearing and interacting with modern visual aids. It also make the students willing to learn more because of the new style.

In addition, projectors enables teachers to create PowerPoint presentations or other highly organized notes for the class. With the use of projectors in the classroom, students can take better notes with the ability to take down notes what information the teacher display is most useful to them. The main reason in choosing this study is because the researchers would like to know if there are any effects of using projectors on senior high school students to their learning acquisition and the researchers wants to know if the projectors is a really effective or reliable thing to use in teaching the students in senior high school. Chapter 1The Problem and Its Background

It can also affect their knowledge in technologies because they can learn a lot by studying how to do PowerPoint presentations. It excites the student to learn more about it because of the ways how to do it. It also helps them to understand the lesson fast because their too eager to learn about it when the teacher used technologies. The teachers enjoys using this kind of strategy because it does not consume a lot of their time. They also can see the eagerness of their students to learn when they uses power point presentation in teaching. They can also learn more about it by using it time by time and they also want to try the new trends that is really reliable.

In addition, projectors enables teachers to create PowerPoint presentations or other highly organized notes for the class. With the use of projectors in the classroom, students can take better notes with the ability to take down notes what information the teacher display is most useful to them. Additionally, students can ask the teacher to repeat a slide if they missed information, or even ask that the teacher to email the presentation for further view. In the same way, projectors require a simple click of button or mouse, thus, freeing valuable class time. By using projectors, teachers can more easily prepare all notes prior to class for easy presentation. Teachers may also find that they spend less time repeating or rewriting information that is now accessible with a simple click. The importance of this study, is to show the influence of using projector that includes the teachers in our country or in our school. It influence their strategies on how they teach and how it will affect the learning acquisition of the students. The researchers want to show the good benefits of using projectors when it comes on teaching lessons, this study wants to show also how the projectors affects the learning of the students. It also wants to show how the projectors had been a useful strategy in teaching. The researchers want to show that the teachers usually uses technologies now in teaching rather than the old traditional way using visual aids. The researchers noticed that the teachers in Senior High School students usually uses projectors in teaching, so they want to know if what are the benefits in using this kind of strategy. The researchers highlighted the use of projector of the senior high school teachers and the study focused on the use of projector among the senior high school teachers and its effect on the learning acquisition of senior high school student.

The main reason in choosing this study is because the researchers would like to know if there are any effects of using projectors on senior high school students to their learning acquisition and the researchers wants to know if the projectors is a really effective or reliable thing to use in teaching the students in senior high school.

Review of Related Literature and Studies

This chapter presents foreign and local literature and studies. It served as the basis of information for the study. Foreign Literature According to Perlberg, (2015) “The use of overhead projector as a teaching aid has up read every rapidly and widely and is recommended by educators, but its effectiveness in general and in specific subjects has not been sufficiently tested. ”

Based on Perlberg using a projectors in classroom as a visual aid is highly recommended for teachers to use it in classroom because it is effective to catch up the attention of the students to listen carefully to the teachers.

In another literature from Akanegbu, (2014) “Educators have been using projector to integrate technology into classrooms since the late i880’s and todays projectors maintain the same basic purpose; transmitting images onto a surface. But that’s where the similarities and between projectors from then and now end. Projectors have evolved significantly in weight, technology and dimension since they were first introduced into classroom. ”

From the literature of Akanegbu projectors have progressed in terms of visual aids. And educators or teachers has using the prjectors because it is reliable rather than the traditional visual aids.

On the other hand, according to the literature of Peters, (2018) “The classrooms need to instead adopt a ‘guide on the side’ model, where educators let students explore subject areas independently or in groups while providing occasional advise and assistance. ” He suggested that “Replacing traditional desks with modular furniture that moves easily fit whatever a class might be doing that day. ”

Based on Peters a classroom is need a guide or display on the side a projector because you as a teacher you let the students to explore the projectors. And you replace it in the side so that the students may see it and explore it.

In the study of Cortez, (2018) “Thanks to the latest in technology, using projectors in the classroom hardly means that students need it to sit at their desks and task straight ahead. New tools, like those from Epson, let educators projects almost anywhere, and apps synced with the devices let everyone participate in classroom collaboration. ”

She acknowledge the new and latest technology because here are the projector who can help the teachers to teach their students very well because in that students may participate in your classroom.

In other study, according to Craft (2014), “it allows them to take control of their own learning and I can see how that could be done. The key feature, through and the selling point in focus is highlighting, is the probability. You can effectively away surface into an interactive whiteboard. No longer are teachers stuck to one wall in the room, they could project it on the root or the floor or the lockers outside the classroom. ”

In this literature he explains on displaying the standard projector in classroom he suggested that you always use the whiteboard for better viewing the presentations.

Local Literature

According to Gubalane (2014), “Projectors are very good tools in teaching tools. In order to achieve its full potential teachers must learn how to properly use it and find resources that student can engage”

He explains that having a projector as a material or tools in teaching in classroom are very reliable and he said that being a teacher who have a projector in classroom is very resources because student can engage or participate in classroom.

In other literature from Calimag (2016), “But a common challenge is the use of traditional equipment and methods. An example of the traditional method id the teacher student, classroom type approaches, which can be less conductive in achieving the action outcomes demanded by fast-paced organizations and business. ”

He explain that the traditional way of teaching in school that is less conductive in achieving the action. And he explain the environment of the traditional way of teaching of teachers in school.

On the other hand, According to Ronda (2014), “ Teachers newly equipped with basic computer skills and trained in information and communication technology (ICT) are using their new skills for administrative tasks such as preparing DepEd required reports, calculating grade and typing lesson plans. ”

He said that teachers now is using the ICT equipment in terms of teaching and their learning because in just using the computer teacher will apply or relate their lesson in creating in the computer and teachers will easily pass their requirements on deped.

In the study of Garcia (2016), “ Online learning data bases do not waste precious natural resources. A single laptop and projector set up, for example can be use in learning session for an entired classroom. ”

She said that in her statement is now we can easily and productivity pass and read abooks online and the teachers will going to required their students to use the social internet to pass their assignments.

In other study, According to Prensky (2017), “ who coined that terms “ digital natives” and “ digital immigrants”, students today think and process information in fundamentally different way from their predessor. ”

He explain that classroom today is now applicable with the technologies like there are computers, LCD T. V, Printer, and different materials of technology. And so that having a projectors in classroom is advantages because projector can engage the students and enable the teachers to teach and to learn actively to bring the lesson to their teaching and learning acquisition.

Research Design and Methodology

This study presents the research design in this study, including the population and sample, the instrument and technique used, the data gathering procedure, and statistical treatment of data. The researchers use the Quantitative Research design it’s uses statistical treatment, uses numbers rather than words.

Population and Sample

There were 100 Teachers respondent the study was conducted in Mariano Marcos Memorial High School (MMMHS) because the researchers are teachers in MMMHS. The researcher utilized the purpose sampling technique in selecting the respondents of the study. This type of sampling uses a specific purpose in selecting a sample. Formula: n=N1+Ne =Where as: n= Sample sizeN= Population totale= margin of errorDescription of the Respondents Senior High School Teachers in MMMHS served as Respondents School: MMMHS

Total no. of teachers respondents

Junior High School: 78

Senior High School: 22

Total: 100

Instrument and Technique Used

The researchers used the standardized questionnaire. The researchers instrument to gather the data from the respondents is the questionnaire because this is the one thing who can help them to gather the true data from the respondents. And the researchers will going to distribute one by one to the respondents the proposed research questionnaire.

Data Gathering Procedure

First, the researchers gathered into one of the researcher’s house to plan for the study. They search or read from the internet and they also want to go to national library in manila for to help them to gather a same study on that library.

Second, they prepared a letter of intent to be submitted to their professors and to approve that they are ready to distribute the proposed research questionnaire.

Third, the researchers asked a permission from their teachers to allow them to distribute the questionnaire to their key participants which is the teachers of the Mariano Marcos Memorial High School.

Last, the researchers will distribute their questionnaire to gather the information from the key participants in one day. After that the researchers will going to tally the answers of the respondents and they are going to discuss it very well.

Statistical Treatment of Data

After collecting the data needed, the researchers tabulated and analyzed the gathered information from the respondents. The following are the statistical tools used int this study together with their corresponding formulas. 1. The profile of the respondents was determined by using percentage, ranking and weighted mean. Percentage (P) t = x 100 Where: f= frequencyN= total number of the respondentsP=PercentageWeighted Mean

The formula used is: TWF/NWHERE: WM= weighted Mean

N= total number of responses

WF= weighted frequency
