Typhoon Yolanda: the Role of Government and Society

In the Philippines, there is a word called Haling or 'to care for oneself.' In this country it means that they take care of themselves by taking time heal themselves, take care of yourself. They believe that if they do not heal themselves, they will not be able to help others with their healing. How people can take care of themselves during such dusasters as a typhoons? This statement doesn't work in such cases and in the essay about typhoon Yolanda it proved.

The effect of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines was disastrous and left traumatized people in its wake. Many Filipinos were left with feelings of despair and hopelessness after the typhoon hit their home country in 2013. Even if Filipino communities have been trying to protect themselves from natural disasters by making preparations for these events, just one event can cause a lot of trouble for anybody.

The government is earnestly doing its best to make sure that they can provide the necessary help and assistance to those who need it. But I worry about what will happen to the people who don't take it upon themselves to go into self-healing mode. What will we do if we cannot heal ourselves?

The government is also doing their part in helping out the people in need. They are doing their part by giving out food and water to the people. More than anything, the government wants to make sure that they are taking care of their own people first before they can take on more responsibility of other countries.

People in typhoon Yolanda are still struggling to recover from the effects of this storm. Many of them are getting their lives back on track by themselves. Many people do not want to depend on the government just for relief goods when they can do it themselves with their own efforts.

It is not just the responsibility of the government to help those who were affected by typhoon Yolanda. It is also the responsibility of those who were not directly effected and they should be grateful for what they have and do their part in helping. Some people can't afford to buy goods and services, but they can still donate money to the victims. They can also volunteer their time or skills to those in need, if they are qualified. It is every person's duty to help those who are suffering from tragedies like these.

To end up, the government should take the initiative to heal from the effects of typhoon yolanda. They should also help their people that are in worse conditions. The government has a lot of resources and power to take care of it's citizens, and as a result they have a responsibility to take care of them as well. The public is well aware that there is plenty of aid coming from many different places, however, they still need the assistance from those who have been elected by themselves, those who know what needs to be done and those who can actually do something about it.
