Vocation And Destiny In You Are What You Love
James Smith in the text, “You are What You Love,” offers a reader a friendly start to the extensive Augustinian insights by stating that people’s acts are shaped by what they mostly love than by what they mostly think or do. Therefore, if virtues and sin are rightly disorders and love ordered if the only way people can change is through the worshipping style, it will force people to rethink how they do Christian ministry and work. James in this text provides vital ideologies on how Christian education, corporate worship and formation affect the vocational world of Christians.
This is an earned identity because Christianity is not a physical characteristic which can be seen. Endowed identity can be seen in the gender of the two characters. According to James Jesus asks, “What do you want?” which fundamentally defines who we are. Also, Luther stated that, “the purpose of one's vocation, whatever it might be, is serving others. It has to do with fulfilling Christ's injunction to love one's neighbor.” The question of whether the man is naturally evil or good evokes different opinions from every individual as people base their arguments on observations and experiences of the world. The feelings of individuals on their relationship with the biological and physical world are often seen to be incomplete. People are in control of their actions in some way. However, in some instances, they are at the mercy of their bodies and thus it is evident that the consciousness of an individual is a creation of physical brains and the sense that awareness goes beyond physicality. Therefore, the partial knowledge of people’s relationship with nature leaves them obsessed and fascinated. The postmodern worldview is conceiving a new phenomenon. Humans are being shaped by their culture; there is a looming bias in describing issues.
Thus, it causes humanity to doubt if the God of Genesis was wrong hence making it simpler for people to assume that the evil that is encountered in the world is the work of another more dangerous force. Focusing on human awareness, kit separates people from machines, rocks as well as other things in the world. For instance, robots cannot be able to be emotional or feel any pain, happiness. However, it can be imagined that when people are hurt, they feel pain when they teach any idea they probably know it and other imaginary things. Additionally, our lives either have value, or they do not have any value to us. However, it can be argued that if they do not possess any value, then there is no point of living. Therefore, it can be concluded that people can know that their lives have value. The dualist theory should not be accepted on the basis that it does not provide substantial evidence of the non-physical existence.
Christianity has not failed but the worldview on Christianity and humanity has changed from the traditional view of Christianity. Human beings having been created in the image and likeness of God, it is presumed that they are intelligent beings. As opposed to the pressure of survival, the man underwent during evolution, a man may perceive and have a glimpse of what they expect of their destiny even in the next world. The two disciplines should help, draw humans to this fact. That as even the difference still exist then humans should determine for themselves their fate and how they wish to end it, whether in the hands of facts or values. The United States culture greatly varies from several other cultures mainly due to its strong focus on task orientation and individualism. This results in business behaviors that are challenging for several other cultures even when people from the other cultures think that they have an understanding of American culture from the media. There are numerous values that drive the mainstream work culture in the United States.
Worldviews do and can change and in general the global view is mainly influenced by science and religion. James states that, “It is not that we need less than worldview; we need more than worldview”. Social relations are an additional aspect that seems to affect immigrants in the United States especially when they come from a group of lineal oriented cultures. The social relations sense in the United States is individual and a college child decides their own path. For instance, when a young lady moves into her individual apartment and young men get employment and do not give money to the family. In several cultures in the world, these behaviors can be seen to be outrageous and disrespectful.
Conclusion
The difference is the way people view the appropriate role of individuals in the globe especially the ones that emphasize on providing for oneself and even in learning to independently function without the family. Therefore, in the American view, unlike other cultures, it is right for a woman to move to another state for a good job and it is not right for an older man to assume his father’s obligations when he dies. they are not being heartless or even selfish but they take care of themselves which is their duty as well as a sign that they were prepared well by their parents to face life in the world view of Americans.
