What Is My Research Interests and Goals in Education
This my life essay for students in which the example of application letter is shown. I am applying for admission into the Community MEd Educational Leadership Prince George 2020 Fall at your esteemed university. I regard your university as one of the top universities in the world and have the best concerning teaching staff and resources that can help me achieve my goals in life. I am also inspired by the access to the University’s Centre for Studies In Research Culture and Education (CIRCE) and the Centre for Studies in Educational Leadership and Policy (CSELP) to improve my understanding of the new dimension of educational leadership that seeks to influence positive change at the school and community levels through the resourcefulness, and creativity of school principals and teachers.
I am the former head of the ICT department in my school and I improved teaching and learning in the department by engaging and involving all teachers and motivating them to work diligently. I facilitated an in-service training workshop for both teaching and non-teaching staff to enable them use ICT tools efficiently to improve upon their teaching and office tasks. I have mentored several student-teachers who undertook their internship in my department and provided them with the essential support and guidance for their world of work. As an ICT teacher, I take my students’ cognitive, emotional and behavioural skills into consideration, and so I make my lessons interesting so that all of them participate fully. Furthermore, my educational background has been diverse and cuts across subject areas in science, physical education, mathematics, management, and teaching and these are experiences I bring to bear on the current degree I seek.
I have also in collaboration with one of my research advisors co-authored an article “Contextual factors influencing the implementation of Radio Frequency Identification technology in academic libraries in Ghana” which I presented at the First University of South Africa Biennial International Conference on Library and Information Science in Africa (UNILISA) held in Pretoria, South Africa. It has been accepted for publication in Mousaion journal.
My research interests include educational leadership, ICTs, education systems and policy, parental involvement, and gender studies. I am particularly passionate about research in these areas because I want to adopt an interdisciplinary approach to unearth new findings and recommendations to topical issues in these areas. Moreover, I would acquire the right competences to transform any institution I may find myself after my studies. I am hopeful of initiating a project that would serve as a model for effective educational leadership in schools in Ghana. I promise that I would be a conscientious student and give off my best on the program if I am admitted.
