A Photographer Rodney Torres
Photography is one of the ways of reliving the time that has been past and will never come. When we look at the old photographs we actually relive those moments and it felts as if we are back in that time once again. With the technological advancements, there are now techniques that ensure that the photos last for longer. It is usually thought that arts like photography are inbuilt but I don't agree with this. If this was the case, how a 40 years aged man Rodney Torres can be a successful photographer at this age?
Yes, he is 40 years old plus guy and revealed his love for photography in near past. Rodney likes to travel and so does his wife. They used to take photographs while on their tours abroad. He states that he always loved to take pictures from long exposure. It enables the person to see several technical settings as well as creative design to capture the perfect moments out of the photographs. This was when he fell in love with the photography and hence devoted a balanced time to his business, family and being a photographer.
Rodney had all his education in Ateneo. He got enrolled in all the top schools of the Philippines that are located in Katipunan, Quezon City back in 1984. From 1984 to 1992, he stayed in the elementary school before he shifted to Ateneo High School from 1992 to 1996. His college was Ateneo de Manila University and graduated from there from 1996 to 2000. From grade school to his college life, he remained to be a consistent honor student. During the freshman year, Rodney won the PAYA, UAAP, and the PRADA championship. He served as president of his class too. These were the years that trained him to be independent and a responsible individual. He says that he has always been a studious student. He says that he used to raise a question about whatever I used to study and used to revise the matter again and again until I used to come up a satisfactorily answer.
Same is the case with photography. He does not finalize the photos once he himself feels satisfied. He was approved by VIVA films as well as VIVA artist to shoot the official movie posters. He began with a controversial movie named as "Jacqueline Comes Home". It is a real life story of the Chiong sisters who belonged to Cebu City back in the year 1997. Rodney says that people usually ask him the same question frequently that where he has been hiding all these years. I always say that there is a right time meant for everything and for me to enter the photography career, this was the right time. Most of the times we see people comparing his work with the paintings of European master painters such as Vermeer, Rembrandt, and the others from the Dutch master's reign. The question arises that what is next there for this talented photographer. Well, I am sure about one thing only that he will have a real bright future to enjoy.
