A Whisper From The Devil: Discovering the Human Nature

People are born with positive and negative energies within them. But the real question is do they choose to embrace these energies? Or are there certain incidents that motivated them to? Are some people evil in nature or did the difficulties of life force them? So how do human beings go from good, bad, to evil? I believe that the evilness within people is motivated in many means such as: the diversity of perspectives among people, most commonly the background and environment that the person grew in, and most importantly the greed of mankind. One important method that motivates evil within people is there viewpoint and perspective. First of all, some people believe that what they are doing is right even if it is seen among the others as an unacceptable thing.

In “Why would a person choose to do evil rather than doing well? ” the author shows that the perspective matters when he says that “ When a Klansman disrupts a wedding because the people getting involved are different races and the Klansman thinks interracial marriage is wrong, he thinks he's doing good” (Veaux, 2015). Some burglars steal because they need some materials or items to survive, but others rob from rich people and well known stores because they believe they have more than they need and that they are selfish and arrogant for not sharing these goods among middle and low class people. On the other face of the same coin, a lot of ignorant folks start judging criminals and protest for the execution of them without knowing what their mental condition is or what is happening upstairs. Many rapists of young ladies or women, serial killers, and even some small drug dealers are diagnosed as mentally retarded.

Moreover, some people are considered evil just because what they are doing is wrong according to you and your religious beliefs, like being sexually connected with women without being married or drinking till they pass out which is considered having fun according to them. With no less importance, one of the most factors that motivate evil of humans is their background and the environment they grew up in. All human beings were innocent the moment they were born. So what changed them when they grew up? Surely, parents have a noteworthy part in the corruption of the kids and teenagers that will eventually destroy their future, which usually leads the kids when they grow up to, make money by defrauding and stealing rather than working hard. Imagine for example living with parents busy fighting all the time or always working and leaving the kids with their nannies, who will guide them and teach them what is right and what is wrong.

Sometimes these small examples are the reason why a child or even a teenager becomes a corrupt and worthless person in the society. Nevertheless, even if the parents were up to the task of raising their children and they placed them in a healthy environment, plenty of children grow to become a complete failure because of their friends or who they spent time with at the streets. Living in an environment where you need to fight to gain the respect of the people, and everyone smoking weed and addicting to drugs will only corrupt the young minds allowing them to grow into useless men in the society depending on stealing to survive. At the end of the day there is nothing that motivates evil that dwells inside the people more than greed. Greed is something that each person in this world is guilty of. No matter what their rank or position in society is, for the poor and the billionaire have got their minds consumed by it at least once in their lifetimes, seeking contentment, a greedy individual is often tempted to evil doings such as: deception, envy, and spite of which all in all, if not controlled, could destruct a whole nation. And amidst all these outcomes and conception arises a question: is greed the root of evil?

Covetousness affects humans to a large degree compared to animals. Erich Fromm, a German philosopher, described greed in “Escape from Freedom” as “a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction” (1941). Human beings get haunted by the idea of morality therefore leading us mortals to develop a sense of uneasiness and hurry, questioning our purpose, meaning, and values, so we turn to greediness to gain a sense of purpose, placing a high value on material objects. One of the reasons greed is considered as the root of evil because human beings have a disgusting, greedy way of living. Since the beginning of life people never loved to share instead they fought all the time to get what they want. No one is born evil, but there are a lot of External influences that the person will face in life that could change him once and forever. The variety of perspectives among the people, the environment and the people you grew up with, and the most significant the greed of human beings is all examples what could motivate the evilness within people.
