America Should Provide Free Education To Its Citizens

Its senior year you’ve worked diligently and painfully hard to succeed, you were honor roll, did 2 sports, did after school curriculums then turn around and see it was all in vain because you have no college funds. So you decide to take a year off and work and gather money for college tuition since you so badly want to be someone in society, then bills pop up you meet a guy or girl fall in love and college is just a faint memory of your dreams. This is 83% of American teens in the United States of America as of 2017, 58% want so badly to go to college but no funds and parents aren’t millionaires. Why is this?

America flaunts so hard on the opportunities this great nation provides to other countries yet we don’t even give this opportunity to the kids inside America but we find kids from other countries to give them free scholarships to our colleges/universities. Having a free college education system creates a population that can compete in the global economy, giving them the opportunity to get the education they need to thrive regardless of income and class, lower American student dept and give them the tools needed to succeed. In this decade over 60 percent of job openings require a postsecondary education, this not the 1970 having just a high school diploma is no longer enough to ensure that every American have the skills on to the good paying they love. If you happy to go to work every day you’ll put in more effort and the productivity of the work you would increase and the Nations productivity would increase. No one will enjoy the experience when they having crushing depts.

With stress teens tend to repeatedly fail because they start to have lack of sleep, can’t concentrate, can’t eat and got to continuously repeat classes till they go dead broke and drop out. Public University’s where made in the sense that everyone can get an education but only those who’s parents are rich can afford it which therefore can’t be called “public” if it’s not available to the public since middle class and lower class is part of the public. When you are born you don’t choose your family and the jobs and opportunities you’re parents had but we should have the choses in the opportunities we get in today. Bernie Sanders said“100-150 years ago incredibly brave Americans said you know what working class kids, low Income kids should not have to work in factories or on the farm’s. Like the rich kids they deserve to get a free education from first grade to 12th grade. . . the world has changed this is 2016 in many ways a college degree today is the equivalent to what a high school diploma was 50-60 years ago. ”

We as nation need to stop living in the past times, technology, education and people are changing and over 15 countries around the world provide free education to its citizens, its time America does so too. Others may say that having to pay for college gives you motivation and ambition and finances have to come from somewhere and it’s not fair to take money from other people’s pockets to take someone else child to college. But they are wrong there’s no greater motivation in the world than guidance that’s why we all have parents, if no one had a mom or dad to show you how the world works and lead the way how will we be prepared for what the world throws at you. Nelson Mandela once said “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. ” If you a middle class person or lower class what do the rich offer you to help you become rich? Absolutely nothing them just sitting on their money all day till they die isn’t helping you or me. During 2016-2018 all the millionaire’s and billionaire’s got 85% richer while you’re stuck driving a broken down car that squeaks and whimpers hoping every morning it’ll hopefully start while working 2 jobs just to make company owners like Starbucks richer.

So why sympathize with them? High taxes on persons like Bill Gates will still be a billionaire but you will be an educated person on the way to being a billionaire yourself. Then again they did work for them money and deserve it but do you deserve poverty and living paycheck to paycheck? Independence, leadership, equality all these are what free university education can provide to its citizens. Mahatma Gandhi said “if you want to reach real world peace in this world, we should start educating children. ” It is time as nation to build on the movement of the past leaders.
