Analysing the No Homework Policy: Agree or Disagree With This
No Homework Policy: Agree or Disagree? This essay will investigate this controversial question. There are so many laws in our country and one of those is the House Bill No.3883 or the “No Homework Policy” wherein the teachers should not give homework or assignments to their students every Friday because most of the people believes that students or youths should spend most of their quality time to their family. Perez mentioned that House Bill No. 3883 seeks to prohibit teachers in elementary and high schools to give assignments on weekends, while House Bill No. 3611 proposes a total ban on homework for all students in kindergarten up to senior high school.
The advantages of having the House Bill No.3883 or the “No Homework Policy” are, the students or the youths can spend most of their precious time to their families. In every weekends they can at least forget their problems on school and just enjoy their weekends with their families. They can also have some rest on school works. The student’s health will be prioritize, when there are too many school there are tendencies that student’s health will be affected so if this policy will be implemented then the students can focus on taking care of their health. It also help most of the students to get more sleep because most of the students are still awake even if it’s already late because they need to finish their school works. Excess homework can make the students to feel burn out because their mind is already tired.
The disadvantages of having the House Bill No.3883 or the “No Homework Policy” are, because the students don’t have homework or assignments on weekends most of them will not do some advance study for their next lesson that only means that the students are taking advantage of this so called policy. And also, if they don't have school works every weekends then it will lead them to the mindset of not studying every weekends so it means that their opportunity rate to learn will be low. It will be hard for the teachers to monitor their students performance if this policy will be implemented. And it can also cause some difficulties to the teachers to monitor if their students learn something about what they discussed. Homework can help the students to learn on how to manage their time correctly to be successful. Homework can also help the parents to be more involved in their child’s school activities. And also, homework can help the students to think more critically.
As one of those students, of course I will agree because in my opinion it will benefit me more. I can spent most of my quality time to my family because in every weekdays I’m at school so it’s just right that I can spend my weekends with my love ones. And I can focus more on taking care of my own health. I can also sleep more if I don’t have some excess homework. I can enjoy my weekends. I can also forget temporarily my problems on school.
But whether the House Bill No.3883 or the “No Homework Policy” will be implemented it’s our duty as a students to study hard to be successful in the near future. And we should pay our parents hard work just to make sure that our future will be secured. And we should always remember that there’s always a room for improvement. We should always aim for high don’t stick to what are you right now make yourself a better person for you to be successful.
