Team Building
New business opportunity is knocking in Mac Ville by expanding its product divisions and specialization on supplying two or more new brands of coffee machine. The company has been decided to separate new undertaking operated by the new team. The management also decided to house management and warehouse operation in one location for this project. The team has been built after two months long team building process. The team has come up with all team building steps forming, norming, storming and performing. The team has already built-up on solid foundation of Mac Ville mission and vision and we are now on the state of divining roles responsibilities for the members of the team.
Defining Roles
To be a successful team, the team members should work in a group with complementary skills and members should be committed for a common purpose. In any team building process, we first need establish the team's purpose and identify the various skills and abilities. There should be well document skills profile so that the team leader knows which members can contribute what part of the business. Teams are always driven by the roles and responsibilities so it is also vital to specify the roles and responsibilities and delegate authorities to take decision on their own territory of job. In this project the distinct roles in a broad level as Account manager, Warehouse manger will be assigned and further specified by the accountability and responsibilities assigned under the particular roles.
Assigning responsibilities
Based on the ability, qualification, knowledge, experience and interpersonal skills the following responsibilities assigned to the roles defined in the personnel profile. The hierarchy or chain of command designed by the HR committee will expected give the clear outline of the organizational direction and communication channels.
After the careful skill analysis that avilable to HR database, we have desinged a simple worksheet to define the role and responsibilities which is subjected to be reviewed by HR periodically. The aim of this allocation based on the available skill set is to place right person on right place.
Resourcing Team
Resourcing team is an important aspect of successful team building. Resources are not limited to the finances; it can be people, technology, system, training or identifying other partners for business. Resourcing would be done in conjunction with empowerment kept in mind. The team should be empowered such a way they are able seek resources or alternative resource to fulfill by themselves. In this project all the financial resources will be provided by company. The team will empowered to seek the additional support channel of resources and able identify the best resources for the success of the team. For example, selection of technology, choosing ERP software for warehouse, account or sales and customer services at one place.
Providing Positive Environment
As we have already establish the clear articulated mission vision and goals of Mac Ville. Now it is the team and team leader's responsibility to communicate these statements to the everyday workplace and able to built a positive work environment.

Employees can identify with organization's purpose and mission and encouraged to innovation to meet organizational goal.
Building positive work environment encourages teams to be involved in creativity and innovation. Assigning job responsibilities to team member who have matching skill set can be very instrumental in developing employees' creativity.
Team can only thrive if there is open and honest communication. There must be collaborative and transparent decision-making.
Conflicts are handled promptly and positively. The overall idea is that there must create a positive work environment by the team leader to perform as a successful team.
Empowering Teams
There are several measures are in place to foster empowerment in team members. After building of team, the next step is always an empowerment. Empowerment is a very broad concept which encompasess employees enthusiatic involvement with their maximum potential to make the things sucesses. The organization's system and reward process must support indivieal or team to feel them motivated towards the goal. The operating environment must enable perople to communicate with each other, seek or provide informationl and identity potential problems.
In this project it is highly recommended to the team leader to formulate the empowerment measurs to be impelemented so that the team always feels empowered and motivated to wards the boarder mission of Mac Ville.
