Behind Every Stuggle There Is A Blessing
No matter how bad of a challenge you may face in life there is always a positive outcome behind it. In that moment you may not see how it could impact your life in a better way, but you would have to wait to see why. Even the smallest challenge can save you from something that is not meant to be for you or in your life ****one space up On an extremely hot day in March 2006 in Baghdad,Iraq i decided to play tag in our backyard with my brother since the electricity was off as always.
Our yard had big black fences around our house. There was a whole yard surrounding my house. This was the year when the American soldiers have been in Iraq for a while. I remember at that time, everything had felt chaotic because war has been going on for a long time. I remember seeing American soldiers using atomic bombs to break into peoples houses just for suspicions or unncessesary investigations. All the time I heard bombs, gun shots, mothers and children crying. When they entered in 2003 they caused a lot of corruption and destroyed the country and its people. One day the electricity was off and I got bored so I went out to play as any four year old would do. This was when my brother had told me to come inside immediatley because he had seen the American soldiers come in our area but I was too stubborn to listen to him because I really wanted to lock the door that was too big and heavy for me. They came in with a tank and four soldiers surrounding it. One of the soldiers that was sitting in the commander hatch and located my brother and I from the muzzle.
At first he attempted to aim at my brother, but was unable to get him because he was under a tree, however I was the perfect target for him because I was in an open area where I was trying to lock the door. I suddenly heard shots firing which was when I saw the bullet pass by my brother’s ear. After this, I don’t remember everything clearly, but the only thing I remember was a force pushing me to the floor and everything else became blurry and felt dreamy- like because I was in shock. At this point, my brother screamed for my mom and rushed up the stairs. I was confused as to what had happened until I felt something dripping on my arms, I looked to my right and saw blood dripping down my arms to the floor. I was on my knees shot. ****one space up I was on my knees shot. Everything felt like it had happened in a split second. My cousin came running to me and took upon himself to reach to my shoulder and pull the bullet out, the bullet left a burn and blisters on his fingers. Later, I was taken to the hospital where I waited for a long time until my turn came out of hundreds of people that had life threatening injuries. Since my body was in shock I did not feel anything until later on in the hospital. While I was waiting in pain I had seen many disturbing scenes such as heavy blood on the floor, children with burns and gun shots on their body, and people with missing body parts. Nurses and doctors could barely catch up to all the cases because they were too many for them to handle at once. That had lead to many people passing away because many did not recive to proper care that they needed due to lack of equipment at the hospital.
As soon as the doctor got to me, he squeezed poisoned blood out from the bullet and gave me a needle then I was sent home the same day. This was a traumatic experience for my family and I, that had turned our life around for the better. It had taught me that life is very precious and to value every part of it because it can be taken away within a blink of an eye. This experience has helped me leave the country and be in a safer place. All the experiences in life are always meant for a reason and never a mistake, But rather to teach a valuable listen to help shape you into becoming a resilient person. After every hardship comes ease, with every challenge you face in life stay posotive in every step knowing there is a light on the other end coming your way.
