Case Analysis Of Experience As A Team
In the internship, the company hires seven interns from India and seven from Nashville for summer Interns. Both teams have intercultural problems that begin with the time where they must find the time to arrange their meeting because there is a vast time difference between different countries. After arranging the meeting there was a lacking an interpersonal communication because they don’t understand the Anant because he is too fast at his speaking style and he does not reduce his speed in all the conversation and since from that they heard some of the words that he said.
Throughout this conversation, they were not stopping or interrupting him because they don’t know about the culture of India how they feel if someone interrupt in between the talk. From the beginning teamwork was fail because of a couple of the reason, they don’t want to start the meeting early and the lack of the communication. Hearing, understanding, interpreting, analyzing, and responding these all are the area of causing the issues related in this scenario. Firstly, hearing they were not able to understand what Anant was asking and that’s why everybody leaving most of the thing which is unknown.
Secondly, in the part of understanding, they are not able to comprehend the task and the assignment that they want to present. So, the Nashville team had to ask the team of New Delhi about why that all of the questions were crucial in the project. In the analysis, both of the team have to understand each other’s opinion about the project and they have to do more analysis about what their supervisor was asking to them. Both of the team was having a tough time to request feedback and answering the feedback. The comparison between two different approaches is that the first way sounds more negative response and the way of telling is straightforward. Another opinion is like the more positive and more effective to the focus of language and the outcomes. So, I think, the second opinion is more convenient to help the Roberto to obtain the criticism and develop the successful collaboration in such a way that they like to work with together. I would recommend them to do a compromise and collaborate to manage the conflict. In a compromise, I would recommend the team to make a draft and after that send it to the Delhi team in the half of the time period. The interns of the New Delhi could modify their content by adding their own data and more focus on the programming concepts.
The last week of the project they would assemble and make a final touch up on the handbook before it would submit. In the collaborative approach, they have to submit the design and complete the handbook individually. In that way, they have the same plan on their mind and all of them have a different technique for getting it complete. Collaboration is the main approach since it ensures an assignment that shows experience of the internship in both areas.
The Indian team and U.S. team members have the problem on both sides for an understanding of each other. Anant had a problem to understand the accent of the southern American language because he only knows the British English language but later on, he had learned both of languages. U.S. interns have only one assigned project and the handbook while Indian team has more than one project to do. The successful strategy for the team that indicated by creating the clear view for the meeting agendas and using the email correspondence. Additionally, as per the time difference and the priorities team has to compromise the schedule. During the phone conversation make an effort to use and read nonverbal clues. After completing all the tasks give a feedback for ensuring the understanding. Moreover, the answer should judge the differences of the ideas for presentation as well as avoidance of the question for the work priories and the load of the work.
I have mentioned all of the experience that they have faced at that time and after that some conflict they learn to compromise, culture and finally they became a great team and hand over the final handbook. Not only the handbook after that they were helping each other and when going for the new project they make better and effective strategies.
