Dedication To A Happy And Prosperous Life
In the present era, as we know the level of competition is rapidly increasing with each passing day. In this race, there are still many people who are unable to participate because of visible or invisible disabilities. Disability means any harm to a person which could be mental or physical from which a person can suffer throughout the life which could restrict the functioning of the whole body. Individuals with such disabilities tend to suffer through life many hardships and lead a tough life.
My sister who has paralyzed leg at the age of five is unable to perform any physical tasks. I belong to India and at the time of eighties in India, there was no proper treatment of polio disease. She had the impairment of leg during that period of time. Polio vaccination is given to children who are under the age of five. During 80, parents were also not much aware about this disease and its further consequences to the victims who have it. My aunt was in her maternal home whereas my cousin sister was in her paternal home. My aunt neglected her daughter health and she got disabled for her rest of life. She had symptoms of polio such as high fever and acute pain in the whole body, especially in leg and slowly she stopped playing because of the extreme pain in the leg and got disabled. In addition, she is a strong , independent woman who is free to do anything for herself. She has a problem while walking but still she is enough for herself to walk alone in a crowd.
Firstly, my cousin sister faces many obstacles and always try to overcome them. But, her mother plays a pivotal role in shaping her daughter s life. My aunt felt very bad and always in guilt for neglecting her daughter .In another phase of my sister life is to deal with harsh realities of life. My aunt is always there to help her. She showed her every phase of life and in fact she taught her how to handle them. My aunt s family live in a village and my family lived in the city. As in villages , there was a no proper source of education. But still my aunt taught my cousin about the teachings of God and gave moral lessons which plays a vital role in everyone’s life.
My cousin sister never went to school but she is intelligent and always try to learn more and more new things. Moreover, she loves to do knitting. Actually, knitting is her hobby and in her leisure time she love to do this recreational activity. Whenever I had free time I help my cousin sister to get familiar with digital technology so that she too can take the advantages of these technologies. Furthermore, I taught my cousin about Internet facilities where she can do anything without going outside like online shopping, online banking, online websites for study and also for entertainment. I also told her about business plans and schemes and other number of ways to do online business so that she is free from any financial constraint . In fact, she can support her family by providing them financial help. She is courageous to face any hurdles of life. No doubt, there are enormous situations where a person feel neglected from society. I still remember the time when we went to playground. I started playing badminton with my siblings but she sat in the ground and watched us as she cannot walk or run like us here she felt discarded. It is even difficult to survive with people who used harsh words for their life. But above all this is to survive with motivation and with much more dedication to a happy and prosperous life. My cousin sister is now running a small-scale knitting business where she can earn handsome money to fulfill her dreams.
I am overwhelmed to see her courage and dedication towards her life. She is career oriented but her main focus is getting education so that her disability be overlooked. For example, people with both visible and invisible disability have many disadvantages when it comes to life. They are often overlooked and underappreciated. Individuals like my cousin have managed to lead a fairly normal life despite their disabilities. However, if they were given a more fair chance they could be more successful.
