Achieving Physical Fitness: An Informative Guide

In the essay about physical fitness this topic will be revealed by the author as much as possible. Physical fitness is related to a person's capability of their body systems, which if all work right allows you to be healthy and allows your body to participate in physical activities which then can make you physically fit. Physical fitness can also be a set of attributes that people have or they really wanna achieve. Overall fitness is made up of six skill components and five health components. Examples of being physically fit is being able to run long distances or being able to lift heavy weights at the gym, saying your physical fit is not all about what activity you participate in, but how intense the activity is.

The five health components of fitness are cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition. Cardiovascular endurance is your body's ability to intake oxygen, and then give it to your body's tissues which then makes it your heart, lungs, vessels, arteries and veins. If you are physically active it can maintain or even sometimes improve your body’s ability to give oxygen to all of your important body systems, and better your metabolism. The second health component is muscular strength. Muscular strength is the amount of force so a certain muscle group that can produce at one time, balanced training is very important for the big muscle groups. You can increase your muscle strength but using heavier weights but less reps. Third heath component is muscular endurance, muscular endurance consists of two factors which both contribute to muscular health. Doing long cycling is an example, and doing planks is an example of muscular endurance, the longer amount of time that you can hold your body in a steady position, that means the greater endurance you have. The fourth component is flexibility, flexibility is the range of motion that you have on joints., and is specific particular joints. Being flexible is very important at all ages of life, it can affect people’s balance, coordination and agility, having a complete full range of motion can bring down the chances of getting injured. The older a person is the more important this is because a lot of older people have trouble reaching over their heads, and even walking. There are several ways that you can increase your flexibility such as active, passive and isometric stretching, which all increase your flexibility in different ways. The final component is body composition which is your personal body and its ratio of fat mass to day. High levels of fat results in bad outcomes, and if too much fat can cause heart disease and type 2 diabetes, being healthy is very important and should be a goal for people. There are ways that you can improve the amount of fat mass that you have, you can workout at the gym, and involving cardo, and weights and increase your muscle mass.

There are five health components but there are also six skill components to physical fitness. The six skill components are power, speed, agility, coordination, balance and reaction time. Power is the combination of speed and strength, or in other words how fast you can gain force. Ways to increase power is doing resistance and speed with paced workouts. People have this if they are involved in activities that require strength and also power. The second skill is speed. Speed is the ability to keep a constant pace when running, or doing something that requires the tracking of speed. Speed is used in many different sports such as track, football, or even swimming. Doing very intense exercises related to your sport can increase your speed, and will allow you to maintain that speed. The third skill is agility, agility is the ability to move very quickly and easily, and also being able to move directions easily. There are many drills that can increase your agility such as ladder, cone drills. For example if you play soccer you need to move fast but also need to be able to move your directions very quickly, they train and practice to get better agility but it's important for doing something that requires quick movements. The fourth component is coordination. Coordination is the movement of your hands or your feet and also inputs your senses. Being able to tell where the object is going and being able to react is part of coordination. Many sports these days require very good coordination such as golf, softball/baseball, and football. People develop these by doing things that require the movement of the hands or feet and doing it for several years can help improve it, and starting at an older age.The fifth component is balance, balance is ability to keep an straight up posture while still moving, and is your body's capability to adjust your body position, or being able to change that quickly. For example everytime we walk our body is constantly readjusting so that you don’t fall over. We all develop as a small kid, and it continues to improve from the first time we take steps. The final heath component is reaction time which is how fast that you can react, reaction time hinges heavily on your mind and body connection. Reaction time is different for everyone depending on how fast your mind interprets it.

Several components are improved while doing yoga and pilates such as flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. During yoga the mind brings together the mind and the body, yoga is built on three levels. Both of these exercises can improve muscular and posture strength. There are many health benefits from pilates also such as increasing your spine and it can also help your lung capacity and so much more. There are also benefits from yoga such as helps your nervous systems, digestive system and much more.

To sum up, physical fitness refers to “a set of attributes that related to the ability to perform physical activity”. Physical fitness is the ability of the body systems to work together efficiently to allow people to be healthy and effectively perform activities of daily living. Physical fitness can be classified into health-related and skill-related fitness. Health related fitness consists five components: cardio respiratory endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition and is determined by a combination of regular activity and genetically inherited ability. The amount of physical fitness ranges is from low to high. On other hand, skill-related fitness divided into six components: agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time, and speed. In terms of prevention of diseases, the main emphasis of any fitness programs should be placed on the health- related fitness as skill-related fitness is crucial for success in sports and daily life activity and it also contributes to wellness.
