The Advantages of Online Learning: Comprehensive Review

When writing an expository essay about online learning, it's important to note that the flexibility of online learning extends beyond just scheduling. Online courses often provide a variety of multimedia resources and interactive tools that can help students engage with the material in ways that may not be available in a traditional classroom setting. Additionally, online learning can be an excellent option for students who may struggle with anxiety or other mental health challenges that make in-person classes difficult. By taking these factors into consideration, we can see why online learning is quickly becoming the preferred method of education for many students around the world.

Online learning gives students more time to spend extra curricular activities or jobs due to the flexibility. Many students are putting off enrolling in face to face courses due to time investment it will require. This generally involves the time to go back and forth to classes, plus the time spent waiting for tutors and other students. According to a Brandon Hall report on online learning with corporations found that this style of learning typically requires 40-60% less employee time than learning in a traditional classroom setting. Online learning also generally allows students to split the time they are investing in the course in whichever way for them. They don’t need to be able to dedicate large chunks of time to the class. In the face to-face classes essay, writers express a lot of different arguments why offline learning is better than online, nevertheless, in this essay, the focus is on the opposite.

Anxiety disorders affect roughly around 32% of American children. We all have days where getting out bed feels like an exhausting task we’ll under take. However, for a student suffering from anxiety this can easily be an everyday occurrence, well at least for me. If a student is feeling anxious during their entire school day, it makes it difficult for them to be present and productive in their classes, so it’ll affect their grades, how they talk to their teacher and their  behavior. One set back of the brick and mortar style of education is that every student is taught at the same pace when in reality, not every student learns the same way or at the same rate. Things such as making friends and staying on top of classwork can be more difficult for students who suffer from anxiety, which can lead to isolation and falling behind in class. While it may not solve every problem, online school is a viable option for students who are looking for a different environment that will enable them to excel academically and socially.

Doing online learning is better mentally and physically for students because it puts less stress on them and they can work in their own environment - this argument can also be used for writing face-to-face learning vs online learning essay. Students can develop their own environments and own routines with online school, students do not need to be in the classroom from eight in the morning to 3 in the afternoon, like most traditional school systems. Instead, each student can develop their own routine and schedule. Students can choose the environment where they study, so many distractions may exist in a traditional classroom setting which could easily make learning in that environment very difficult and stressful for some students. Students can work at their own pace, for some students being forced to learn at a specific pace can be very challenging and stressful. For example, what if a student takes more time to grasp mathematical concepts than a teacher in a traditional school would be willing to take. Or maybe a student has great memory and remembering facts for history class takes no time at all. With online school, students are able to choose how much time they devote to their classes and assignments, can study at their own pace. This makes learning easier manege, less stressful and more well rounded.

In conclusion to short essay about modular learning, people might say online students won’t do their work, they won’t pay attention and end up getting bad grades and test scores but home schooled students score, on average, ten to thirty percent better than the students in the public-private brick and mortar schools at the same grade level. Home schooled students also show to be above average in their leadership skills, have higher self esteem, and are more likely to serve their community. All of these qualities are what colleges regularly look for when considering if they can apply or if they can give the student a scholarship. These students also are more likely to score well on tests like the ACT and SAT.
