Drugs can be bad for your heart, liver, etc. Some athletes even use performance enhancing drugs such as anabolic drugs which promote muscle building, also athletes take androgenic steroids which are responsible for male traits such as facial hair and a deeper voice. Both of these steroids have testosterone in them.

Gambling

When an athlete gambles there is a high risk that you could become addicted to gambling. When a person is addicted to gambling they find it hard to concentrate on doing other tasks. A person can develop gambling disorder which is an addiction for gambling. Gambling can cause a few problems such as Having extreme emotions or mood swings, Feeling that gambling is the only thing you enjoy, to the exclusion of other things, finding it difficult to sleep, Feeling depressed or anxious, having suicidal thoughts and using gambling as a way to deal with other problems or emotions in your life.

Smoking can affect an athlete because it can cause an athlete to get out of breath quickly and there is a risk of developing lung cancer. Smoking can cause a bad image for famous athletes who have a fan base because young people like to imitate famous people. Nicotine from cigarettes is as addictive as heroin.
