Hard Experiences or Skill Formation: Internship Program
Before starting this internship essay, let me tell you that what follows will be a story about my learning experience and the formation of new skills. I hope this story will be useful for someone. During the half-year industrial training program, whenever I accept something new, I constantly look for shortcomings, and continuously improve myself to make myself more progressive. At first, I managed to improve my computer skills. I was not good at using accounting and payroll software because I rarely used different types of software in the course before the internship. During my internship, I need to learn to use accounting software and payroll software because I need to use them to achieve my task. Among them, I often come into contact with SQL Payroll Software, SQL Accounting software and AutoCount Payroll Software. These three software have different operation methods. My senior has a better understanding of SQL software, so I can ask her if I have any questions. She will patiently explain to me how to use the software, and when I understand, I can quickly learn how to use the software. Then I will spend some time exploring how to use this software to create other documents. For the AutoCount software, I need to figure out how to use it myself. When I encounter problem, I called the AutoCount service hotline for help. So this allows me to learn how to solve problems myself.
Furthermore, I managed to improve my ability to cope with stress. During the internship, I encountered some stressful moments. Due to my wide scope of work, I exposed to the work of different departments. I often do the management work, followed by the work of the audit department and the tax department. Different departments have different tasks for me, such as I need to create payroll summaries, payslip and other documents for client employees; I need to prepare some part of audit work documents for field audits; I also need to create tax compliance for dormant company. When I finish my current job, the next job is a different type of job, which is a great experience for me because it enables me to learn many new things. Conversely, when starting a new task, I need to be under a lot of pressure because I was not fully prepared before the internship. Besides, there were many problems encounter because I did not have enough knowledge to integrate it into the task. As a result, these experiences made me aware of my weaknesses and became a motivation for me to study hard to improve my weaknesses. During the six-month internship period, I continued to accept different tasks, which also improved my ability to do things. I was able to complete scheduled tasks in a short time and reduce errors. In addition, I also realized that it is very important to think positively because I often encounter problems and become pessimistic, so I constantly change my mind and try my best to do my job well.
Beyond that, I managed to improve multi-tasking. During industrial training, I need complete many different tasks at work, such as creating customer employee payslips, filing, sending documents, vouching and so on. Sometimes it is necessary to complete the work together within few day, or suddenly. At the beginning, I could not handle it because I was in a state of chaos, but by executing it more and more frequently, I could handle it getting better and faster. This will be very helpful for my future work, because I may often encounter this problem in the future. For example, when other employees in the company cannot come to work if they sick. On that time, I can replace their work and let the company operate as usual.
As an intern, I face various difficulties and challenges every day. Therefore, I need to learn how to solve problems and think critically to provide the best solution to the problem. If I cannot solve the problem, I will seek the help of my superiors and supervisors because they have more experience and different views on the problem than I do Good communication is very important, because I need to understand the other party's ideas or instructions in order to handle things well. My colleagues are friendly and helpful, which really makes me happy, because they have provided me with a lot of help, and even took some time to teach me, I really appreciate their help these days. Each department manager will review the tasks they have assigned me, and if there are any problems, the manager or supervisor will tell me the mistakes I made and the solutions to prevent me from repeating the same mistake again.
