My Goal To Get A Master Study In Mechanical Engineering
I would like to introduce myself as a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering Graduate from Peri Institute of Technology, Chennai, India and I intend to take my master study in Mechanical Engineering. In this ever-changing world of engineering and technology, the passing day makes them outdated, I want to attain the highest level of education and exposure in the research field in Mechanical engineering. I was always fascinated by engineering since my childhood and it became my passion when I started getting excited about engines and it's working.
Right from my school days, I found myself curious about physics and its applications in the real world. My under graduation enabled me to learn a lot of things and always kept me going in the direction to learn more. Our undergraduate study syllabic had a rigorous curriculum that included every important corner of mechanical engineering. It consisted of Strength of materials, Manufacturing Technology, Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Automobile Engineering, Quality control & management, Engineering Mathematics, Finite element analysis, Power Plant engineering, Computer-aided designing, Mechatronics.
I have done an Internship on Fabrication of ATV Quad Bike from ZEAL Universal Motors (P) Limited, Chennai, India where I was able to learn about Quad bike, its quality, checking and how the assembly can be carried out efficiently on a large scale. Followed by an In-plant training in JCBL Marrel and Tippers Private Limited, Oragadam, Tamilnadu. It mainly focuses on the production of Tippers and various Stages of inspection, Quality checks, Fabrication and Painting. My first academic project was Design and Fabrication of Motorized paper punching machine where I fabricated already existing design by adding an electric motor and improved efficiency using Whitworth quick return mechanism. Which is reliable, cost-effective and gave better run time. The layout was designed using Auto CAD software and Solid design was assembled using CREO parametric. Finally, the design was fabricated and worked successfully.
The second project was Rotation moulding using Fresnel lens in which our team combined unique ideas of bringing fresnel lens to produce necessary heat energy by amplifying solar energy to produce plastic components such as bottle caps, gaskets and Automobile parts by the process of rotation moulding. The main objective of the project is to incorporating the use of a Fresnel lens to produce heat energy and reduce the use of electricity. It was highly appreciated by college staffs and awarded outstanding grades. My interest in the strength of materials immensely motivated to publish a paper at National Conference on Trends and innovations in mechanical engineering, the paper titled Comparative Mechanical property Analysis of Nylon 6,6/Cloisite R 20A & Nylon 6,6/MWNT Nanocomposite with virgin Nylon 6,6. The paper investigates the procedure involved in preparing and testing two different Nanocomposites like virgin Nylon 6,6/Cloisite R 20A & Nylon 6,6/Multiwall Nanotubes. The mixing and melting were done using Twin Screw Extruder as per ASTM standards. Both polymers showed the better result when tested on Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and different w% MWNT was added to Nanocomposites. Finally, it was found that Polymer Nanocomposite has better Mechanical properties than Virgin Nylon 6,6. It was published at Dr.M.G.R Education and Research Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
After the experience gained from the internship made me analyze the present vital role of CAD and their applications over automobile and importance of analysis on automobile structures. Moreover, I had credited a sound knowledge on software packages like AutoCAD 2D for mechanical Engineers, Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, Ansys, GD&T in which I did a master diploma in product design from CADD centre, Pallavaram, Tamil Nadu.
I feel that co-curricular activities are also important in estimating a person’s all-round capacity. Peri institute of technology provided an encouraging environment not only to choose projects which are to my liking and also to equally participate in extracurricular activities. It improved leadership skills and organizing skills, participating in events during “PERISE’16” (a yearly national level technical fest held at our college) and cultural festivals every year. I strongly feel a master course would provide me with an opportunity and pave the way to earning practical experience and acquire specialization. It would help sharpen my skills, earn proficiency, seek professional and industrial exposure. After completing my master degree I would like to extend my knowledge by doing PhD And along with performing research on the mechanical field.
I feel that your university will help me achieve my future goals and I am eagerly looking forward to being a part of your highly deemed university.
