My Potential To Succeed In The Area Of Political Science

I strongly believe I will be able to succeed with an upper division in political science at the end of my coursework after enrolling at the University of California, this is because I have extensively involved myself as an intern for the Californian State senator Joel Anderson where I was able to undergo all the preparatory political science classes. These classes have enabled me acquire more knowledge on my course even before joining the university as well as having a positive attitude about the course would like to pursue at the University. The knowledge that I acquired will help me have a good understanding of my course, help me comprehend what I did not understand during my preparatory classes, help me participate in group work, show respect for the instructor and interest in class since will be able to participate actively in class by answering questions to topics of discussion as well as asking those I did not understand as I have already had a prior knowledge concerning the topics to be covered. I was also able to have the opportunity to attend all the San Diego county democratic conventions and events which enabled me attain proficiency on structures of governance, political thoughts, scrutiny of political activities and political behaviour. These has therefore enabled me have an upper hand experience in determining of the distribution of power and resources. With my preparatory classes in political science and events attended at the San Diego county democratic conventions I strongly believe that am well equipped and ready to succeed with an upper division during my graduation in political science once I enrol at the University of California.

I have confidence that indeed I stand out for the admission to the University of California. This is for the reason that I strongly understand deep meaning of diverse perspective and its importance. Better understanding of diverse perspective has enabled me appreciate that each individual is unique in their own way basing on age, gender, ethnicity, race, religious beliefs, political beliefs, physical abilities, sexual orientation and socio-economic status. Appreciation of diverse perspective has enable me to be fair in my judgements and verdicts without any form of discrimination or stereotyping any individual in the systems of governance, analysis of political activities, political behaviour and political thought basing on diverse perspective. Similarly, I strongly believe am a strong candidate for admission to the University of California to study political science, this is in accordance to the fact that have involved myself in the military services, some of which include enforcement of national unity which enabled me know the importance of peace within a country and how bad it can be for a country to be at war amongst themselves, defence of the country from any form of external forces attacking or criticizing and power projection, which is the capacity of a state to apply all or some of its elements in conducting expeditionary warfare which I see is of significant relation to the course I intend to major in that is political science at the University of California. With the possession of all these qualifications I am confident and strongly believe in myself as an individual who stands out to be an exceptionally prepared candidate for admission at the University of California.

My greatest skills have always been reading body language and empathy. I developed empathy while at the army during a combat between two army groups in fight for defence which resulted into brutal injury of one of my team members. I was able to offer my assistance through admission of first aid and carrying of the injured to seek medical help at a fur distance. Another scenario where was able to demonstrate my empathy skill was during my event attendance at San Diego county democratic convention where there were campaigns for a political post and one of the political aspirants was spreading propaganda messages on the social media to dishonour the opponent. I empathised with the political aspirant whose name was being waged in the media by feeling how awful he might have felt upon hearing what his opponent had done to him. I developed reading of body language while in my high school during our life skill classes where was able to read the body language of my classmates in cases of anxiety, depression or any psychological related condition that resulted from the social behaviours. Undertaking my preparatory political science classes also helped me further understand and develop my skills on reading body language which was able to put in practise in reading body language while I was attending the San Diego county democratic conventions in determining distribution of power and resources. I was able to note the body language of politicians while addressing the public basing on the impression they made by the non-verbal signals such as their posture, movements, appearance and intonation. These body languages significantly influenced opinion establishment.

I have comprehensively involved myself as a leader during my high school and during my military services. At my high school level I was a prefect, being a leader of an age group of adolescents resulted into conflicts which I positively influenced in helping resolve the disputes. Different subgroups that existed within the class had their everyday arguments that had to be solved and being the prefect ensuring that peace prevailed was the least I could do. I therefore had to confront both parties to determine the issue and come up with possible solutions and strategies of putting rest to the disputes ensuring both parties were full field after the settlement of the dispute between the two parties at war. Occasionally at home my sibling would fight over petty issues that could be solved amicable by talking when my parents were not around and I had to intervene for peace to thrive. At the army we had to work in troops and being a troop leader involved a lot of group effort in achieving the group’s activities even if it meant applying dictatorial form of govern ship however our troop had individuals who were aware of what was expected of them hence laissez- faire leadership worked for us. Some groups employed democratic leadership amongst their troops however at the conclusion of the decisions contributed equally the leader still had to decide which decision best suited the group. Also I had to sometimes carry out task that were not meant for me during circumstances where the one responsible was held up somewhere, acting as a situational leader also did help me develop my leadership skills.
