Adventures in Multigrade Teaching: My Personal Journey and Insights

I learnt a lot in this module that helps me to apprehend about multigrade teaching and strengthens my grasp on the subject. There are things that I gained so much from this course and I would like to acknowledge some appreciation in multigrade teaching essay that has fairly helped and triggered me to teach in the near future. 

First, it gives me a wide array of methodsstrategies and approaches that would be effective on whatever type of learners that I would be instructing in the near future. The strategies are overwhelming and you can manipulate time based on your chosen activities, using collaborative materials, to be able not to wasted time and no learning ever left behind. 

Secondly, it promotes independent learning. We all know that learners are highly dependent on their teachers when it comes to putting up knowledge, and creates a larger responsibility for the teachers to accommodate all the learning needs of the students. Independent learning reduce this burden due to the fact that teacher is not the center of the learning scene but facilitates the learning. In designing an activity, students should be the one who are responsible for its results, then the learners learn how to learn. It makes the student interested and inquisitive. As a future teacher, this is going to help my class more student-centered and teacher-facilitated.

Multigrade teaching is flexible. Since multigrade teaching is “where a class of more than one grade level is taught by the same teacher in the same room”, students therefore learned differently. I anticipate this is where multigrade teaching became an advantage because as a multigrade teacher, you can pick out which topic get hold of attention and what activities are remarkable for the learners to finish of and subsequently you can alter the time to be spent whether for lectures or for group workindividual work. This is one of the things that I favored about multigrade teaching as it would not put a lot of stress on you and therefore focus more essential things that matters to the students.

I can attest now that I have obtained a favorable insights and draw close about this course because I can confidently say that I can teach a multigrade class in the near future, I would be given greater opportunity and training to analyze about it. The idea of teachinglearning has unlocked my apprehensions about how and what to teach, I mean, as a future teacher it does not prepare you a whole teaching experience but prepares you to be geared up with knowledge how and what to teach, multigrade teaching somehow gives a teaching experienced

Overall there are many strategies to train and moreover to learn, multigrade teaching in this course has equipped me with conceptual lenses that would be useful and come in on hand in the near future. It has opened up my desire to teach effectively not because I want to be called an effective teacher but because I just want to teach. The workloads of a multigrade teacher seems to be prodigious and can be considered as daunting to some, but the rewards however weigh more than the amount of work you exerted.
