Review Of A Raven’s Peak By Lincoln Cole

This is a thriller story of Abigail trying to find out what happened to her mentor after he die to rescue her. Alone and stripped of her rank, she is assigned on a low case mission which becomes complicated after she encounters Haatim. Her target screws things further when he marks Haatim after which Abi and Haatim gets attacked leading to Haatim capture and Abi rescuing him again. Abi captures a demon linked to her past and manages to squeeze out of her a lead on her mentor and some shady info on Haatim's father.

Abi and Haatim travel together (since it has become too risky to leave Haatim alone) following the lead she got. Abi finds out that her mentor is held captive by the same demon that possessed her. She goes on to her next mission where she finds a massacre which reeks of supernatural involvement. They track the source of this to a boy possessed by a powerful demon. They manage to expel the demon after suffering a few losses. Raven's Peak is such an interesting book from the very first to the last page. It has action, mystery, mystique and it is brilliantly written. I loved the author writes from the perspective of more than one character giving book more than one angle. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. 3 stars because I truly loved the character Abi and her view of things but would have loved it even more if Abi's past was unveiled by someone else instead of she remembering it herself. Haatim is a character that is most inspirational because he goes through all that but is still able to stay collected throughout the book except for the beginning.

Although I loved almost everything in the book one thing that was a bit of a turn off for me was the graphic details of the gory scenes which were a bit too much that I was a bit concerned about the kids that would be reading this. Apart from the the gory scenes were fantastic, creative and original. Those scene got me all jumpy and it felt amazing. I especially loved how Abi is made imperfect. That made it able to associate with her. Since she has her flaws and good aspects that touches people on a real level where they can see that in life nothing is truly good or bad. This a book I'd said read to all who can and to new readers as well.
