Reflection On The Article “Trump And The Rise Of 21St Century Fascism” By Adele M. Stan

I agree with this article Trump and the Rise of 21st Century Fascism, written by Adele M. Stan, that Trump has been nothing but a disappointment to the citizens of the United States and the country itself. His actions do not prove otherwise since they are mostly unconstitutional and demeaning to multiple minority groups in the country. Just as the editor has said, his speeches are full of abusive words and the fact that he says them without any shame continues to amaze me.

How can a president of such a great nation stoop so low? His malicious, nasty personality and lack of compassion was presented to the world when he separated children from their mothers at the Mexican border. I also agree that Trump’s actions are similar to those of world known greatest dictators such as Mussolini and Hitler. A similarity between Trump and Hitler was their need to attack political opponents and the press. They both used minority groups as scapegoats to blame for the problems their country was facing. The ‘Unite the Right rally’ that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia where alt-right members gathered to unify the American white nationalists, the rally became violent when counter-protestors fought back.

President Trump failed to denounce the actions of the neo-nazis and it was seen as a big blow in his presidency. I believe that his actions against the American constitution and human rights are enough proof that he is killing humanity and promoting hatred in a country that has enjoyed peace for a very long time. I cannot find any ground to disagree with this article on the fact that after the president has used some inappropriate words which are racist in nature, he uses Fox News channel to clean his name. For Fox News, Trump can do no wrong, with whatever scrutiny Trump is facing in the present day, Fox News will always take the glass-half-full approach and spin the news. Such media houses should also be shunned, and people encouraged to stop watching their programs so that they can learn a valuable lesson on the importance of human rights. President Trump frequently describes news he does not like as ‘fake news’. The Trump administration refers to the press as the opposition, demands for journalists to be fired and taunts news outlets he does not like as business failures.

One observation I have made over the years since Trump became the president that I think the article has not mentioned is that most of his interviews are on Fox channel only. This only continues to raise eyebrows whether he has some shares in the channel or did he bribe the owners or are Fox news Channel together in bed with the president’s questionable actions. In a nutshell, I think Stan’s description of Trump’s tenure is riveting and educative at the same time.
