Reflection Paper On The Team Work Outcome
In this paper, I am going to present to you how our team work outcome was prepared and which was my collaboration to the group. Also to show you the issues we had and how we corrected them. As our topic area in this project is the rights that are violated to the people that belongs to the LGTB community around the world. My role in this area was two. Collaborate with the investigation process for us to have a clear idea to present our outcome and the editing of it, which was a video showing what are the situations that people of this community live each day of their life and to generate consciousness for the people to change their mind and become more open and accept everyone no matter what. Regarding to the information research, each member of the group searched a right that this LGTB community gets violated and in which country this happened, for then compare and contrast them and see what are the main causes and effects of this social issue. At the end, we concluded that the general right that is the common factor is the equality, but why?
Equality gathers other rights that this people almost “do not have” in some countries of the world like Russia, Arab States and other countries in which the family arrangement and marriage, freedom of expression and work areas where is forbidden for this people to work, and as a punishment the LGTB community members can suffer from this countries can be arrested and in some cases the death penalty is applied to them. But all is not bad, as there are other countries like USA (In the majority of states), Spain, Italy and others were the people of this community is treated like they are: People and all the rights are equal for them as any other person has. But for some countries to have this position, mainly religious and cultural, where is so much more marked than in some other places, where they are adjusting laws and society to the today’s world, by the education principally, where they teach us to be respectful to the people next to us and accept anyone whatever he/she is. In base of the solutions the world is giving to stop the issue of the discrimination of the LGTB society, we wanted to start our outcome from that, to educate the people with a video to make them conscious to start accepting the other.
Our outcome worked the following: We spread the video to multiple people, for them to see it. After seeing it, they had to make a survey in which they show us what the impact was and how did it changed their mind. The results of the outcome were effective, as checking the results of the survey, almost all people had a positive view of the video despite the fact that they liked the video and tell us that it had an impact that might change the mind of the people that still not accept the LGTB community members. Apart from the outcome feedback, we learnt how different countries thinks about a single topic in many different ways just by their culture and religion parameters, were everything is said by a religion or a social statement and cannot be violated or there will be consequences, like for example only being part of LGTB and how the people consider it as something rare or strange for them and start discriminating other people just by the way they are, and everything based on statements that the society imposes. But to change the topic, now referring to the teamwork and the input that every member of the group did was not equilibrated at the beginning, as I had personal issues related to IGCSE, so I arrived late to this group, and my teammates had already done like the half of it by themselves.
Finally when I joined the group I started working in the details, regarding the human rights that the LGTB community gets violated, and then after we all contributed to the project at the final stage of it, we started to work in the outcome. The mainly issue was the lack of communication at the beginning that let a misunderstood inside the group, but after we fix it the whole members of the group had a similar working rhythm and process and mutual support regarding the main aspects that the project handles.
To conclude, we did not learn only about the main topic that the project is about. We learnt how to work as a group to provide outcomes. Also, we learnt how to search information to create a credibly product, as not all the websites we visited are trustful, so for this, we searched only the webpages that can provide us the veridic information that we needed as this is an investigatory project. Finally we know how to make outcomes, as there is people that cannot interact directly with an issue, we think that a good way to near an issue with someone is through a reflection, so the video is a way of it, which may change the mind of someone, when the purpose of it is to do that.
