Religion And My Interpretation Of Koran
The Koran is the central religious context for Islam. Its significance is not only for the messages it conveys, but also as a revelation from God. The Koran is a Holy book for every Muslim, they treat the teachings from the book as a guidance for their lives and it also tells believers what a well-functioned society looks like. The Koran covers a variety of subjects in which relates to human beings ranges from belief to law. One of the central themes in the Koran is the relationship between mankind and God. It’s more like a training for mankind to be conscious of his duties and ascend spiritually, so that we are worthy to meet God. Many other issues (themes) are concerned in the Koran such as social, political, cultural, etc.
The issue of human society is another big subject that the Koran has pointed out. Is the society considered to be the first place and the individual to be the second, or whether it’s the other way around? According to the Koran, it discusses and first introduces the idea of “single soul” and how every individual is unique in different aspects. A direct quote from the Koran to support this statement, “It is He Who hath produced you from a single soul: here is a place of sojourn and a place of departure: We detail Our signs for people who understand. ” I think this implies that the unity of mankind will never be manifested naturally and the differences between individuals can be resolved through the understanding of sacred texts from the Koran. I think the reason God won’t create us equally is that He wants to distinguish his children Wu 2between true believers and hypocrites. So that on the judgement day, those who misbehaved will be punished according to his sins and true believers will have everlasting happiness. In the Koran, it mentions about that this earthly life is nothing more than an illusion and a test for you. Because He wants to create a community who invite other people to be righteous, enjoin good and forbid evil. The Koran places emphasis on the dignity of mankind. It claims that all humans are created equal by God, despite their origin. It also sets justice as the core value of society, God adds on it and commanded his true believers never to fulfill their selfish needs at the expense of others. I think that God wants us to overcome the natural flaws of mankind by following his commandments.
The Koran reveals the ultimate goal of a well-functioned society which is peace. If we look at the history of mankind, we can simply discover that wars have been lasting since the beginning of the human history. I think the origin of all wars are our flawed nature, humans are greedy, want to take over as much resources as they can. A peaceful society can protect every individual’s purpose of life so that they can worship God and prepare for the eternal life. Without the unity of humanity, dignity, and justice, it’s unlikely to create a society that God wants. “Through which God shows unto all that seek His goodly acceptance the paths leading to peace and, by His grace, brings them out of the depths of darkness into the light and guides them onto a straight way. ” I think many of the teachings from the Koran is a universal message that everyone should try to listen to create a better world, not just believers of Islam Wu 3but including everyone else. I think that the Koran gives us valuable lessons if we truly listen, then we can create a perfect society that God wants for us. The Koran remains one of the most sacred books on earth along with the Bible. There are not many books that would last for many centuries, there must be some underlined meaning behind it. I think the reason that the Koran is still influential today is that the messages or teachings in the book resonate with lots of people and it contains sacred texts that Muslims believes it’s a revelation from God.
People who have faith would exercise or study the Koran every day and if enough believers think that Islam is “true” it would be read and passed along for as long as people believe in it or it would not be here today. I also believe that religion alters people’s behaviors, since the Koran has been around for centuries and most Muslims have evolved their culture based on the Koran. Lots of their actions, thoughts, and understanding of the world are influenced by the Koran and have implanted in their hearts. The Koran will continue to impact Muslims’ lives and it will still be the foundation of their core belief.
