Review Of Angus: A Novel By Charles Siebert

The novel Angus is about a dog that was born and raised her first few months as a puppy on a beach house. He had spent her first couple of months as a puppy living on the ocean cliffs. But than his real owners that had the people take of him came to get from that home and too Angus back to their home where he would stay for as long as he lived. They were surrounded by a forest nothing but forest they had a cabin were they stayed and every night angus would go running outside because they would open the door for her to leave and go outside to where she can use the bathroom because they let her out usually at night but every night before she uses the bathroom or after she always goes running off having her owners look and call for her but they would never find her because their surrounded by wood so she could go off anywhere. But one night they let her out and he too off into the woods and she didn't know what was in the woods he didn't know what would happen he didn't know the other animals that were out there as he took off into the forest he heard something flying around not knowing what they were but as he heard her owners calling her to go back he was attacked she was bit by something he didn't know what she didn't know how to feel because he was never the type of dog that would regret or would turn back. He was the type of dog that the owners would have to go looking for him and try to find him he sounds like the type of dog that would love to explore that's why he ran out every night and he just felt like running into the forest it would be like adventuring something so he took the chances and tied to go into the forest and was attacked. He felt vangs in his body biting him still. HE started to hear his owners voices get closer and close as they called “An-gus” But every time it would get farther and farther but it was just him he was dying slowly on the ground as he is still filling like he is still getting attacked. He hopes that his owners find him before anything else might happened he knows if the owners go back into their cabin they would be wondering if he would actually come back. But this time he can't he just is lying there waiting for them to go get him. Angus knows that when the morning comes if they went back into the cabin they'll go looking for him and find him dead s they will be second guessing to try and blame themselves about Angus death.

If Angus stayed in the beach home he lived in before he would not be in this position he is in right now because the people took good care of him and he would have lived much longer than he actually did. Angus as he is on the ground in the forest he starts to go back when he started like when he was in the car on his way to his new home he was talking about how they stopped talked about angus and how they wanted to start a family with him but they had to find a book Jack Russell so that they can learn about his breed and other stuff like how to treat him. But when they started to drive again the guy held the girls hand and asked why this on why not the other one which looked exactly like him which she said that's he chose him because the way he looked in the guy’s arms and how the dog looked itself but the guy licked the other one better. But the girl just liked how he looked with his black spots around his eye and just him in general.

Angus talks about how when he first got into his new home they took him to a hall full of rooms he said it felt like forever walking thru the hall because how much rooms there was he went into the living room where it was all empty looking around thinking if in the morning it wouldn't be empty it would have sofa tables and everything else a living room would need. The whole time Angus was just talking about all his life moments before that night he was talking about how it was in his home with his owners and how is life was with the family and as he was laying there down hoping his owners would find him before he is actually dies. But the owners never make it in time he dies before they find him Angus talks about how if the owners don't find him that night than he knows when he dies that they would talk about why didn't they keep searching for him they will find him the next day but he wouldn't be their anymore because he would be gone. But the owners never made it in time Angus died before they got to him. In the story Angus the owners go back inside and states “Even now, when i find myself getting carried away with all the second-guessing, and the recriminations for letting Angus be out so late at night, and for not going out sooner and farther into the darkness to look for him; if i just start missing him too much, i have only to invoke his spirit to get ahold of myself. The echo energy of his no-look-back, full-throttle approach to life, urging me to get over the loss of his” This is telling us exactly what angus was telling us how they would act if they found him dead after searching and just going back inside and that's exactly what happened.

My Favorite Quotes and my favorite sentences about the story was “If i could lift myself and run again. If i could run here to the fars woods edge, where it has just happened, at night; run away from the very place I'll have to crawl back to now” The reason why i like it is because you can tell Angus tried to get back up after being attacked he fought back so that he would live but he couldn't do it.

Another Quote I like is the one where the owners “urging me to get over his loss” the reason I like this one is because as angus was laying and the ground he said that his “owners would regret going back inside and finding him the next day dead” because he knew they would be all emotional over his loss.

What I learned about this story is that if you had a pet you always would want to take care of him you would never want to leave them alone while their trying to use the restroom because they can go running off and you will not know if they did or not and then you can’t find them and you would be worried on where they wandered off to because you would never know what actually happened to them so when your letting dog use the restroom always watch over them and take care of them with your life because anything bad can happen to them and the next day you will be all emotional because you never found them the night they went missing. So always take care of your pets because you will regret if they got lost and you found them dead when you had a chance to find them but you gave up.
