The Importance Of Daily Planning To Have A Balanced Life
Daily planning is proved to be a very effective and essential routine that helps create balance in someone’s life. It allows to clearly separate the time spent working from the time available for everything else. Planning can greatly reduce stress quotient, giving the peace of mind of knowing that you have formulated a feasible plan of action and that your goals are attainable. It can also serve to evaluate progress during work which will illustrate whether you are staying on schedule. Whether you are a student, or you are working as a professional, implementing that routine to your everyday life can benefit you with the time management skills needed and become organized.
Creating the habit of daily planning is the starting point for me to be a more productive person, a cue that can also assist me in having complete control over my day and be flexible when it comes to unexpected situations. You’ve probably heard the saying “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. ” At any given project or task levels, pour planning is one of the main reasons projects fail, fall behind schedule or miss their deadlines. Without adequate planning, it is difficult to really understand what it will take to complete a project successfully. Lack of planning leads to inadequate preparation, unexpected problems, and poor execution. Majority of people struggle a lot when it comes to completing their tasks. The reason is they tend to procrastinate which makes their life more stressful than it should be.
Let us take myself as an example, a college freshman who wasn’t organized at all when I was in High School and procrastinating was his thing. I would still get my assignments done because my grades depend on it but no matter the amount of free time I had before the due date of a certain assignment I would get it done the night before that specific day. What would happen is that I would stay up all night getting my work done, go to school on only 2 hours of sleep and sometimes I don’t sleep at all; the worst thing about it is that I would do this at least 3 times a week while I am part of the varsity soccer team, club activities, and tutoring. It was kind of hard for me, I would get extremely tired after school, but I managed even though that took away time to enjoy other activities because I never thought about being productive, organized and improving my time management skills through daily planning.
