The Importance Of Sufficient Preparation In Achieving Goals

Preparation results in confidence. The main difference between confident and timid individuals is the level of their preparation. Personally, preparation helps me understand the weaknesses and strengths of things before starting the project or the course of action. Whenever I prepare well for some task, I ensure that I have a proper understanding of the significant aspects or components of that thing in a manner that I gain substantial knowledge of the thing’s major weaknesses and strengths. This helps me in evaluating the best designs to use the powers to my advantage and the ways I will mitigate the shortcomings. Consequently, I become more confident when accomplishing the tasks that I know their weaknesses and strengths as compared to the functions that I had not evaluated.

Furthermore, preparation helps people think through of what they are needed to accomplish since it allows people to become more familiar with what they are required to achieve. To illustrate, preparation helps individuals to address the unknowns before starting a particular project or course of action. Researching and understanding the unknowns ensures that people are familiar with the tasks which in turn helps these individuals to lower their fears, anxiety, and losses associated with misinformation. This is because the preparation process equips people with the substantial knowledge on the possible courses of actions in case of the emergencies and unexpected outcomes since it involves thinking about the alternative answers by playing out the “what ifs” and the perhaps designing contingency plans. For instance, public speakers understand of what they are expected whenever they prepare for the presentations. Knowing the answers to these questions before helps the speakers in selecting the best attention grabbers, the closing remarks and the ways of presenting ideas including the dressing styles, tones, and body languages. With this information, the presenter can quickly identify the presentation’s key areas and the problems that they need to fix before starting their addresses.

Preparation puts people in competitive advantage since it makes people proactive rather than active. Preparation enables people to anticipate specific unfavorable scenarios or reactions before they occur and take necessary precautions to avoid those situations. For instance, some instances may spark mixed opinions about their legal or ethical complexities. In this case, preparation helps the involved individuals to plan on the possible ways they will defend and justify their claims or actions to three possible reactions including the best case, the worst case, and the most probable case. In the context of the worst case, these individuals will develop the possible alternative to address the scenarios where there are total disagreements from the audience while planning for the best instance allows people to establish the ways they will strengthen their claims if other people agree with them.

Finally, preparation helps individuals respond to the most probable case on the ways to validate their claims while refuting the opposing claims in case the reactions include the mixture of the best and worst. In this scenario, preparation has helped these people to foresee and prepare for the three possible responses which are essential in presenting and justifying one’s stance regarding the ethical or legal dilemmas.
