The Philippine Government Should Invest More In Education
“Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world” said by Nelson Mandela. In today’s world, education gives us the power that allows individuals to communicate and be wise in making decisions. It has been the source of knowledge and source of national and economic development of every individual and can produce individuals who can compete globally and produce individuals who can help the country be great again, but on the contrary, not all people have the capability to study even if education will help us to get farther in life. In the Philippines, we lack of educational power for the Philippine government focuses more on national defense, economy, and delinquents. Philippine expenditure on education has declined since Fidel Ramos’ presidency up to Gloria Arroyo’s presidency, however, in the present administration the Commission on Higher Education (2018) is issuing a budget cuts in educational agencies’ budgets. With that being said, the Philippine government should invest more in education.
Education has been the power of every individual. Power is their driving force or motivation to do or act and have an influence on others. Every individual can attain power with having education which is the knowledge that a person must learn in schools or their experiences. With education, the country can produce learned individuals that can be the country’s human capital. The Philippine government has gotten commendations from international associations for its commendable administration of labor migration. According to Ganegodage, K. R., & Rambaldi, A. N. (2011) the effect of education is evaluated through a quality-balanced human capital stock measure. This possibly demonstrates when the government continues to invest more in education and provide younger generations’ equitable access to education the country could create increasingly more human capital which thusly will profit the general public and the future generation and help shape the future of the country.
The society benefits when there’s equitable access to education. Giving equitable access to education to young generation, incapacitated individual, and indigenous individuals could assist the nation with sustaining a comprehensively focused research base to encourage development, adding to financial development by improving national profitability, increment individuals' capability and scholarly level will lessen joblessness and destitution in a nation (Hien, P. V., 2018). According to Ganegodage (2011), the effect of education is evaluated through a quality-balanced human capital stock measure. The more human capital and proper allocation the country can produce the more benefits it can give to the economy. Human capital involves knowledge, aptitudes, talents, abilities, fearlessness, experiences, wisdom, health, some acquired and some procured during lifelong learning (Dumitrescu, G. C., 2015) and they have been considered as one of the sources of country’s improvement because they are the product of education. If the Philippine government maximizes their capabilities on providing equitable education then there would be a better world for the society at large.
Education shapes the future of the country. One of the most perceptible effects of globalization and the steady advancement of private enterprise is the increase in demand for human capital. This is fact in the Philippines, which relies upon workfare to keep its economy above. People who have earned an education degree are altogether bound to be in the labor force and find employment and appreciate sizable income. The accreditation criteria in the Philippines should feature key quality pointers that the educational program should meet for the administration and HEIs to accomplish their command of creating quality alumni with applicable aptitudes for the economy. Everybody who has a degree have jobs that would imply that the progression of pay inside the country would increase or rather amplified, moreover, on the off chance that everybody is taught enough, at that point individuals would settle on more wise decisions throughout their everyday life and be a productive members of society that would help improve a nation, then again, on the off chance that there are a lot of Filipino individuals who didn't experience such education, at that point each part of the economy will be a destruction.
Education serves as a guide on how everyone should live. It plays a significant part in our lives for we get every ability and information we have to endure, it gives us open doors for greater improvement and it aides and gives us a thought on the best way to take part in everyday changes. With education, they can positively affect their environment, impact the future, comprehend others' aims, activities, and emotions, and envision the short and long haul outcomes of what they do. In the Philippines, we can notice several informal settlers within the country those people who lived in that area have not experienced education because they don’t have the means to pay for their school expenses, they have less abilities than those learned individuals and they continue to contribute to the increase in population. On the off chance that those individuals were given appropriate education, at that point most presumably, slums would be decreased.
