The Power Of The Youth To Create Good Government
According to dawn newspapers shows the electoral rolls, some 46m individuals between ages of 18 and 35 years are registered to vote out of an electorate of 105. 96m. Many among the 17. 44m voters between 18 and 25 years would be casting their ballot for the first time; however it is not clear how many will actual vote on election day, especially those in 26 and 35 age bracket, about 28. 99m registered voters.
The current generation elections demonstrated the highest rates of youth votes as compared to the past elections in Pakistan. It is because of the awareness people got through social media and current leaders to elect political leaders who better understand the people and held accountable for their actions. For any nation to develop and progress, youth plays an important role. For any country, it is critical that their youth should be strong and have integrity to move their nation forward and advocate for human rights. It is government responsibility to invest in the youth and encourage them to participate in governance and democratic activities, in this way we can bring peace, security, democracy, consistency and sustainability.
As a leader, I would educate and motivate youth to participate in democratic actions and play their role along with government to improve the current scenario. It is seen in the developed nations that their youth is empowered because they have developed necessary skills and have self confidence and integrity, such countries establish effective and capable leaders for the next generation. Therefore, under our leadership, youth will be given chance to develop skills and self confidence so that they understand their capabilities first and then communicate their thoughts accordingly. Our government would involve political leaders to help youth to participate and get involved in development projects. Furthermore, such strategies and structures should be built that promotes youth to get engage in community.
One of the important aspect for developing youth leadership is proper education which would help youth to participate in establishing good governance, once they have knowledge and awareness themselves. Educated youth can only promote good governance and pure democratic actions. Moreover, we would gather youth to exchange their dialogue and communicate the issues related to bad governance. In that way they would understand the consequences and advocate the government for their actions such as civil rights, accountability, transparency and measures for unemployment. In order to engage youth in development and governance activities, first we need to understand the youth and should give them the confidence to work and take actions. The difference between generations should be well understood and each individual whether an adult or youth should be given equal opportunity without any influence of others, this will not only boost the youth to open up but participate with creative actions towards the development and progress of its nation.
As a majority voting demographic after ten years, most of the voters usually youth would influence electorate through social media and can use propaganda tools online and make huge impact on the elections. People would understand about their rights and will have platforms to voice their demands.
