Human trafficking or sex trafficking/ slavery is a “multi-million dollar industry worldwide. ” Sex trafficking has been proven to bring in global profits of about $150 billion a year and $99 billion from sexual exploitation. Not only has this topic become a big and serious problem, but it's also become an epidemic.
In poor countries, communism is a huge problem, and because these countries are poor there’s no bigger power to help them. “Currently more than a million people live in state of modern-day slavery in Russia. More than 100,000 women are trafficked in Russia every year. ” Russia has been known to serve as a source, Some other causes as to why sex trafficking in Russia is a problem is the culture of drugs, alcoholism, unemployment, homelessness. The country not taking action on this problem has caused 21% of Russia’s population to condemn prostitution as an “appropriate source of income. ” Countries like Russia are in high demand of human trafficking and sex trafficking, women are being trafficked into the legal sex industry or into the underground sex trade.

If the government doesn’t put a stop to it, we as a community should take initiative, not only protesting but further initiative.
