The Short Describing Of Google Glass

Abstract

Google glass interacts with the world through android operating system. Google glass is a new and up to date technology which includes all options in smart phones and has internet facilities. Virtual reality and augmented reality are the two most commonly used features. Google has developed wearable computer named as optical head mounted display. It works with voice commands and useful for handicapped and disabled. It consists of 4G technology, android system, eye tap, smart clothing and wearable computer.

Introduction

The Google Glass is a technology that has been long-rumored about. As the name portrays, the Google Glass is a pimped out pair of glasses. And by pimped out. I mean it comes with a optical head mounted display (OHMD) which allows the wearer to see through and look at projected images coming from a small component on the glasses themselves. The Google Glass also has several other capabilities: users can ask the headset question, prompt it to Google words, take photo and video by the prompt of your voice, get directions and view a GPS, and even participate in group web conversations via a Wi-Fi connection. The Google Glass takes “hands-free” to a whole new level.

Google glass consists of four generations

  1. First generation :- In this generation the use of television camera named as “analysis of glass” camera is located in the eye which will affect the eye for new hours in case of display integration.
  2. Second generation :- The second generation is used to define the effect of camera.
  3. Third generation :- This generation includes the control mechanism of focus in glass.
  4. Fourth generation :- The problem which arises in focusing the lens is solved in this generation .

Features

  1. Virtual Reality :- The virtual reality is defined as an environment to develop the software user’s real thing of real world . It is mostly used in the field of education and training to experienced senses of vision and sound.
  2. Augmented Reality :- It defines the direct or indirect living things on real world environment. This technology is also used for sound, video, graphic and internet data of navigation to global positioning of system. It is easy to handle and a useful technology that is used by all kinds of people. It is mainly used for the purpose of navigation, social and networking purposes.
  3. Display :- The Google glass utilizes a liquid crystal display, field successive color framework , LED illuminated display. The board mirrors the light and adjusts to polarization at dynamic pixel sensor sites. The in-coupling PBS then reflects the S-polarized areas of light at 45 degree through the out coupling beam splitter which the collimated light another 45 degree and into the wearer’s eye.
  4. Camera :- Google glass can take photographs and record videos. Google Glass has the ability to take 5MP photos and record 720p HD video. Glass Enterprise Edition 2 has an improved 8MP 80 FOV camera.
  5. Touch Pad :- A touchpad is situated in favor of Google glass, which enables clients to control the gadget by swiping through a course of events like interface showed on the screen. Sliding backward shows current events, such as weather, and sliding forward shows past events, such as phone calls, photos, circle updates, etc.

Technologies Used In Google Glass

  1. Wearable Computers :- It is an electronic device and known as body borne computers. This technology is specified used in field of media and information technologies. It provides a direct interaction between user and the computer and there is no need of any external devices to be in the mode of on and off. It has the ability of multi-tasking (i.e this system can perform one or more tasks at a time).
  2. Android Operating System :- Android is a Linux based operating system. It is commonly found in mobile devices and familiar in modern society. It is developed by Google in open handset alliance. The approximate calculation is found to be 700,000 apps available in play store that is available in android play store.
  3. Bluetooth :- Google Glass has the facility of communicating through Bluetooth. Google glasses can eliminate headphones because of the vibration through the headphones to the earpieces will distract or lower the level of communication.
  4. Eye Tap :- Acts as a camera for capturing picture and audios that is seen by the user. This eye tap is used to convert the user seen and the picture that is been captured by the user into the computer and will be useful for future reference.
  5. Smart Clothing :- It is a form of clothing that functions as an active device. For example, releasing chilled water vapor when it’s technology and digital technology. Wearer is hot. It is a combination of fabric.

Working OF Google Glass

The device make use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology to connect with the mobile phones. The video camera senses the atmosphere and acknowledges the objects and folks around. The complete operating of the Google glasses depends upon the user voice commands itself. In order to start hangout or share a photo, you only need to have a wireless connection and a Google+ account. The main feature of Google Glass is to place a virtual layer over the reality or augmented reality. Google Glass has a mini-projector which projects the layer directly on the retina with the help of a clever semi-transparent prism. This helps you to see a sharp and clear image even though it is too close. You can optimize the focus of Google Glass by moving it’s front part. The layer that appears in the upper corner of the right eye is depending on the way you wear the Glass.

Application Of Google Glasses

  1. Recording Videos :- Just say the word and Google Glass will take a picture or record a video, you will never have to touch the hardware. The photos and videos will be stored on the 4GB flash memory of the device, and can also be shared on social networking websites or emailed.
  2. Text messages :- Google Glass will show you text messages as well as emails you receive and allow you to reply to them via voice commands.
  3. Browsing :- If you are in the habit of Googling things a lot, you will find that your task has been made easier by the new Glass. You simply need to ask a question and the device will pull the answer from the internet. For example, you can ask when Red Fort was built or to give a few photographs of the monument and the device will provide appropriate replies on the small screen in front of your eye.
  4. Translate :- This is a neat feature that may come in handy when you travel abroad. You simply need to ask Google Glass to translate a phrase or sentence from one language to another and it will speak that out.

Advantages of Google Glass

  1. Wearable headgear that allows some uses hands-free
  2. Capable of recording video and audio from the user’s perspective
  3. User can receive information and notifications from internet and social media without having to check a phone or other mobile device
  4. Screen is always in the user’s visual field
  5. Information can be stored or is accessible from cloud computing storage
  6. Disadvantages of Google Glass :-
  7. Google Glass is currently only available to developers at a high cost, $1500
  8. Recording function (audio, photo, video) could make others concerned about their privacy
  9. Cloud computing storage of information fron Google Glass could be used by Google or third parties, raising privacy concerned
  10. Legal issues regarding some features, such as facial recognition software, are still unresolved
  11. Overuse could adversely affect social relationship if people look at the screen rather than at each other

Conclusion

Google Glass is a fast developing technology. Even though it is sensible easy to use and found an easier way for wearing compared to normal glasses. This is a revolutionary technology that is introduced by Google. It is just an overview of Google glass. By using this people can able to understand that the technology is being developed.
