With everything thrown at us in our adolescent years we need a stable, consistent and safe way to help keep healthy both mentally and physically as well as tools to help remedy stress, anxiety and depression which we, unfortunately, know only too well. These things allow you to escape your problems and forget them but it is not permanent. Your problems come back. Your problems will mount and get worse. You will become addicted and reliant as well as causing grievous harm to your body and brain. A Simple solution is sport and exercise. Sport is the answer. Not drugs, not alcohol, not smoking. Sport is the simple solution.
Exercise is a great stress reliever that can help you get the recommended 8 hours of sleep per night, And by getting a good sleep that will allow you to perform better in school you will become more focused on your work. So that means that not only does physical activity play a role in our physical health, but it also has tremendous benefits to our brain. Exercise helps to promote learning and memory, this is what every teenager needs , a stress reliever after being drowned day in and day out with school, new information, GCSE's and any other problems us teenagers have to deal with.
Exercise will benefit your confidence, looks and weight. Regular exercise may also help you reach and maintain a healthy weight when paired with a healthy diet. Experts recommend that teens get 60 minutes or more of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day. Exercise helps you lose weight and gain confidence and it will also improve your metabolism in the long run. Experts have said that if you are not active you are expected to lose muscle mass at a rate of 8 percent per decade beginning at the age of 30. The rate jumps more dramatically after age 60.
Sport and exercise isn't just beneficial for your mental health it is also good for your physical health and by making your physical health better you are decreasing the chance of getting heart disease, having a stroke and diabetes. Regular exercise will reduce your blood pressure and it will keep your heart and blood vessels healthy helping to prevent hypertension. In the right dose, exercise may help strengthen your immune system in the fight against infections.
