Why The Moon Landing Wasn't A Hoax
Why do people not believe one of the biggest moments in American history? Where do these theories emerge from? The moon landing is with no doubt related to many conspiracy theories, despite this how can we prove these theories to be true? Many would argue that the truth lies with the government, the deep truth locked away somewhere safe. Others believe that the truth lies in historical evidence. I strongly believe that these theories are not true and that the moon landing was not faked as it was a very big moment in American history That questions not only the events but by extension the minds behind it.
For one, many theorists argue that the flag waves when it is planted on the moon as if blew by wind. However, the reality is that yes, there is no gravity or air on the moon, but the flag would have been crumpled from the journey and therefore kept the bent shape due to its traveling conditions. The flag waved from side to side because the astronauts had to rotate it back and forth to make sure it would stay in place, and to dig into the fine lunar sand.
Many also would pick an argument that you cannot see the stars in the sky. What possible reason could there be for being no stars in the sky? Well many theorists would argue the reason for this that it was staged. Despite this it is to be considered that the stars are there, it was due to the quality on the television equipment at the time.
Another piece of evidence that the landing is fact not fiction is that the astronauts from the mission came back with over 842Ibs (382kg) of moon rocks studied by many of the world’s scientists for decades. All the test results showed that the rocks did without a doubt come from the moon.
Many people would debate that the fact that there has been no moon landing since the late 1960s to early 1970s yet there is still operating apparatus on the moon from when the astronauts took it up to the moon. Data is still collected from this equipment. Among this apparatus is “retroreflectors” which still operate today. These were used to measure the distance between earth and the moon. Another experiment was left the “lunar surface magnetometer” which was designed to measure the moons magnetic field, which was proven to exist however it varied across the surface of the moon.
Many would also argue that the astronaut’s footprints are perfectly preserved in the moon sand. On the earth with the air, wind and gravity any footprints or other marks could be simply wiped out, where as on the moon this is not the case there is no air, gravity, rain or wind which could tamper with the footprints therefore they are still engraved on the moons surface. Many spacecrafts or satellites which have orbited the moon have taken pictures or spotted these footprints at the exact location they should be. These have been photographed by countries such as china, India and japan.
Theorists would also hassle that the astronaut’s bodies would not have been able to handle the radiation from the van Allen radiation belt which surrounds the earth. The van Allen radiation belt is large radiation belts which surround the earth. Many believe that the journey would have introduced fatal amounts of radiation into the astronaut’s bodies. This is not true as radiation sickness develops after you have been exposed to around 200 to 1000 “rads” over the course of a few hours which was not the case for the astronauts.
Also suggested among these theories are that there is multiple shadows going at different directions so this must is be the studio lights, Where the landing was supposedly “faked”, which are at different angles. This theory has emerged because there is only one light source on the moon, the sun, which is parallel so must run in only one direction. Theorist believe the only reason for the lights going in different angles is studio lights, However this theory has been uncovered by “mythbusters” who have recreated the scene ultaimitly proving the theory wrong. Like the earth, the moon is not flat, meaning that the light will have many different vertical angles an the small bumps or hills alter the light.
