Woh Mera Dil Tha TV Series Review

It’s often said – "When the bad boy fall in love he falls hard in love".

Recently, I have seen a show called “Woh Mera Dil Tha” which aired on Ary Digital. In the start, I found the plot a little too twisted. Two families that are not on talking terms and their kids land in the same university and then fall in love with each other, typical Bollywood style. Initially, I thought they’d make their parents realize their love by hook and crook and will end up marrying each other. But, NAAHHH! The writer had something else planned.

Let’s have a look at the characters

Zaid – Played by Sami Khan: He’s one of the finest actors in the industry, I believe. His character was of a guy who belonged to a middle class family who is apparently dependent on their old father who works for Naina’s dad – the female lead, yeah they had to be connected some way or the other there’s a lot more in the box just wait. Okay so Zaid, he’s one spoiled brat, the bad boy you may want to call and he HATED Naina but then fell in love with him.

Naina – Played by Madiha Imam: Naina was more like papa ki pari, she’s been over-pampered all her life, maybe because she was the only kid or maybe her dad had trust issues. Trust issues because of naina’s mother, because she left her dad and family for him (naina’s dad). He didn’t want naina to do the same but she ended up falling in love with her cousin – Arham.

Arham – Played by Furqan Qureshi: Apparently they coward in my eyes. Pyaar ko karlia but his couldn’t take stand for his love. Seedhay alfazon me kahu toh, raita phela do diya magar samait na saka. He had heart to fell in love but didn’t have courage to take stand for it. Now, I’ll cut the long story short – leaving the background as a mystery this show was one of the finest shows made in 2017-2018. It had all the elements, heartbreak, trust, love, emotions, family bonding etc. It was apparently the complete package.

I jump straight to the last episodes, where we get to see high voltage drama, typical Pakistani serial stuff you know. So there’s this scene of Zaid and his sister Shabana where he explains her how/why he doesn’t want Naina to come back to him while he was explaining his point that Naina deserves better by then he was head over heels in love with his Wife, Naina. I adored that scene a little more than needed, and I blurted out, “Larka sudhar gaya”. While Naina stood at the door, listening to her man speaking his heart out, I can bet she felt proud somewhere deep down in her heart.

Arham – the coward, my views for him wouldn’t change ever. For the first time in his entire life, he actually did something right by making Zaid realize his love for Naina. And finally, the lovebirds met! I loved the cute husband-wife element, their cute fight and then them finally resolving the matter.

Last, but I adored the family a little too much! A happy ending is all I crave for. And not to forget, its OST is one of my favorites.
