Changes Of People's Values In The Movie IMom
People have different values and appreciate different things in life. Some people appreciate their family more than others. Other people think education is super important so people don't. Money is something everyone feels a bit different about. But we can all agree we want some. In the future people’s values will change for the worst I believe. With the way technology is going we are going to become more anti-social and care more about themselves. Everyone's family is a bit different in how they go about doing things and were there values lay.
In the movie IMom they bought an A. I nanny to help take care of the kids in the house. But the problem with technology is that you never know what it's going to do and it has no emotional feelings. The kids loose connection with her real mom because she is going out so much because she thinks cause the IMom is there watching them nothing will happen. The son at one point feels as the IMom is more there for him then his real mom is. But near the end of the movie the IMom puts the baby in the oven instead of the chicken and then eats it. After the movie was released the director (martin) about what inspired him to create this film and he said, "I came across a baby playing with a robotic arm and was stuck by how it captured the idea of ‘Man versus Machine’ and wanted to take a narrative to show where technology is taking society”. This is where A. I goes wrong the IMom can deserve the difference between small baby and a small chicken they both probably way around the same amount. But this is not ok, i could not imagine coming home to see my baby has been eaten by a A. I robot. What are you going to do about it?
It is a robot you really can't do anything about it and that’s where all the problems start. Companies that manufacture these A. I bots know there could be potential issues but that's not what they say, they say what the people want to hear not the negatives. People don't know what they are getting themselves into. Throughout the future the educational system will change drastically. People will start getting less educated and become more relevant of A. I. In the movie “A. I” it is shown that humans start to rely on the A. I and not themselves soon enough we won't be able to the difference between A. I. and human. This is relevant in the movie A. I when Professor Hobby said “You are a real boy. At least as real I’ve ever made one”.
This is where the big problems occur because we would get to a point where everyone is A. I. but no one would even know it. But at a certain point humans started to dislike the A. I because they were getting smarter than the humans are. Humans fear knowledge because knowledge is power and once the A. I obtains more knowledge then us we will fear them. Money and the value that it has is always fluctuating and changing. Throughout “Harrison Bergeron” it is prevalent that money has changed society. People in this time frame are handicapped by the government. The government controls everything in this society, trying to make everyone equal no one richer than anyone. This starts a lot of problems, people who work very hard and people who do nothing get equal? Is that fair? No it's not you should be rewarded with what you earn and work for. Making everyone equal only makes everything worse in the bigger picture. Everyone would lose motivation and strive, Money's value is always changing for the better or worse its changing i believe it is for the worst.
It would get to a point where your son would die and you cannot grief about it you can't even think about it without the noise going on. This is shown by when Hazel and Geroge watch there soon die the narrator says “It was tragic, all right, but George and Hazel couldn't think about it very hard”. This just shows to us that sympathy and emotion have left society, all because of money, how the government corporate everything in favor for. The government wants to remain the power house and be on top, once there not on top they lose all the power. The future is a great mystery. One thing we do know is that people's values are always changing. The biggest values that are going to change in the future are people family values, money and education. Those are the biggest things that will change in the future. All of these biggest values that people have in common all relate to each other and work with each other. Families make kids that go to school which is education which needs money for the government. It's all a big court so if one goes down they all go down.
