Discussion Of The Donald Trump's Border Wall

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a border is the “boundary line which separates one country from another, the frontier line.” There have been many political outcries in regard to the worlds borders, the United States of America in particular. Donald Trump spent a considerable amount of his time advocating comprehensive immigration reforms on the 2016 campaign trail. He promised to create a 'huge, big border wall' on the southern border of the US, even under Obama's administration Trump decried policy on immigration.

As a child of immigrant parents, learning to take responsibilities for my family and myself at a very young age was vital. Although my parents spoke English, they constantly worked in order to financially support my little brother and myself. My family has the classic immigrant story with some hard times when my parents first came to America in the late 1900’s, seeking a better life for their future children, my brother and I. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, there had been a massive increase in illegal migration to America. The Border Patrol reacted strongly through boosting the labor pool and enforcing advanced technology.

The redefining of the word border is significantly needed in current times. When many people hear the word border, they tend to think of a type of crossing, a physical barrier between a person, place, or a thing. A border should just be universally defined as an line that divides a number of persons, places, or things. A border should not physically separate or cause animosity between anyone. My definition of a border is better due to the implications that borders should be open and imaginary lines. Each sides of the border should have different rules and regulations. Borders should not have a physical barrier that are dividing two that will call political tensions etc. As stated previously, Trump has promised to create a 'huge, big wall' on the southern border of the US.

The border between Mexico and the United States is just an international border that divides Mexico and the United States from the Pacific Ocean throughout the west to the Gulf of Mexico throughout the east. The border between Mexico and the United States is by far the most consistently crossed border in the world, with roughly 990 million reported crossings per year. Currently, twenty-six countries in the world have open borders. (countries highlighted in orange have open borders.) Open borders are a border that enables freedom of movement of individuals (and quite often goods) among territories with little or no constraints on travel.

Having open borders would mean that people will be able to enter or leave countries at their convenience, which is really advantageous to visitors and anybody who wishes to travel around the country without limitations. Nevertheless, this is rather dangerous, essentially, to those involved. Without verifying the additional information and intentions of the people before coming into the country, anyone would be able to enter a different country. Some may agree that free migration is by far the most effective way to prevent global poverty, while others might agree that borders should be closed and limited.

The United States of America has by far the most open immigration policy of any country on the planet. The plot that the Trump administration is anti-immigration is a political trope that is being championed by the progressive left in the Democratic Party and their advocate, the media, to portray Donald Trump and for those who voted for him as an xenophobia fanatic.
