I’m a friendly and easy-going person. I can easily interact with people around me. However, being easy-going does not mean being casual. Sometimes you meet “cute people” in your life and you have to treat them in a “cute way”. I think I can also consider myself as an extrovert person. I love joining camps and activities in school. I love talking and exploring new things around me. Therefore, my dream occupation is to be a journalist.
The leadership experience that I had was I’m a prefect during my secondary school life. The main duty of being a prefect is to help teachers to guide students’ disciplines in school. It’s quite challenging for me since I have to face different students with their different personalities around me, but I still believe myself that I’m able to finish all the task given even though there are many times negativity captivates on myself. Other than that, I joined singing competition when I was in primary school. I also joined Chinese debates and poetry recitation contest during my secondary school period. It’s fun when I’m able to perform to everyone. Leadership subject motivates me a lot for being a good leader. I hope I can share all of these knowledges to my work and surrounding in the future.
Other topic that I want to reveal in “Introduce yourself essay about yourself”called - Recognizing Your Traits.
There are thousands of studies have been conducted to identify the traits of effective leaders. In this topic, we know that it is vital for us to identify our own traits before being a leader. The most important one comes from a combination of emotional expressiveness, self-confidence, self-determination, and freedom from internal conflict. The way that we manage ourselves is a main part of being an effective leader. Being aware towards our strengths and limitations in any areas will form a direct effect on our behaviors and communications with others. Without this awareness, it will lead us to a difficult way for being a leader.
During the class, Madam Syaza had let us tried kinds of personality test to see which kind of people we are and which field we are good in. Through this test, I was able to recognize myself more and also find out which leadership type and area is suitable for me. I realized the importance about exploring the areas identified for development within the model may be as much about how you manage yourself and your behaviors.
There are 6 keys of a leader’s traits and I will write about them in this introducing yourself essay. There are intelligence, confidence, charisma, determination, sociability and integrity. All these traits are tending to assist the leader in decision making. First of all, intelligence does not mean be a genius but there will be having some good skills to adapt, such as having a good language skills and perceptual skills. An intelligent leader will be aware of things which happen around them. Moving on to confidence, it is a trait that makes a leader to feel positive about their ability. A leader must have confidence to accomplish their goals.
Next is charisma. It refers to a special personality characteristic which gives a leader the capacity to do extraordinary things. This trait gives the leader exceptional powers of influence in the group. After that is determination, this trait is to lead the leader to be more focused on doing something. Without determination, it will be difficult for a leader to achieve the goal persistently.
Moreover, a sociable leader should be friendly, outgoing, courteous, and diplomatic. Not just only that, he or she must also able to handle the social relationships in their life. Lastly, a leader should have the trait of integrity which is to be honest and trustworthy in any situation faced.
To conclude this “tell me something about yourself” essay I want to mention that I am quite sure that I have leadership qualities that I can successfully develop if I want to. During my studies, my supervisors repeatedly noticed my leadership abilities and emphasized them when evaluating the results of my activities. In general, I believe that every person can become a leader if he has the desire and makes an effort!
