My First Day at Campus: Reflections on an Unforgettable Experience
My entry into a university after I had completed my school education was an important event in my life. I still vividly remember my first day in college, never could I think that I would see my last semester on campus, but here I am. Time has flown by so fast and I have mixed reactions on whether it has been a worthwhile experience or just a waste of time. This is “My Campus Experience - First Day of Class Essay” where I want to show my experience studying hight education.
When I joined USIU I was so excited in meeting new people. I made friends almost instantaneously some of whom are still the best of friends until now. Every time we would meet up, we will never fail to recall how we were back in the freshman and sophomore years; how we were molded to what we are now. This friendship ties has helped me enjoy my stay at the university and kept away boredom. Many times I find myself consulting my friends on solutions to life matters outside university, the friends I have made in USIU have been a great shaping block in my life.
I joined USIU to better my skills in IT, and for sure that is what I have gained. My dream was to learn computer and acquire skills that I could possibly use to generate an Income for me. Fortunately I was able to make a website from the skills I learned in my web design class and sold the websites. Although I haven’t been able to sell any since that one I’m hopeful to sell even more in the future since I still have my skills in the bag.
During most of the semesters in university, I spent a lot time trying to get myself motivated, listening to inspirational music and reading articles on study tips. But I actually spent very little time being motivated and working hard. I didn’t want to start studying or doing assignments until I felt fully inspired. Which meant that very little work actually got done, including late submission of assignments. During my last year semesters, I learned that you just have to dive right into working hard. You can’t wait until you feel fully ready and psyched up. Also the dropping of my GPA inspired me to put in the work in attempts to rescue my GPA. This whole experience made me value hardwork in order to see results.
In summary, my time in college has enriched my life in many ways, I still remember my first day of classes, hence it was a very worthwhile my time. It has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my skills more, taught me valuable knowledge about this diverse world and people and concepts in general and eventually will enable me to hopefully become more successful in life when I finally graduate and get my degree. It also has stressed to me the importance of thinking critically and asking questions in many situations. All these aspects of college have also made me more well-rounded as a person.
