My Dedication To A Career Of Pediatrician

My name is Kathryn Mendyk. I am a student at College of DuPage working towards an associate degree and planning on transferring to a four-year college or university. I have always had a passion to attend school to gain new acknowledge on abstract ideas and subjects. For as long as I remember, I have always wanted to be a pediatrician. I have been responsible for taking care of my cousins ever since I was in middle school. As I grew older, this made me conclude that I not only wanted to work with children but that I also wanted to be involved in the medical field. I want to have the ability to better someone’s life and improve their self-esteem. Goals are crucial in my life. Without making goals in my life, I would not be able to focus or achieve anything. To reach my goals, I want to acquire a bachelor’s degree that would accommodate in pursuing a medical career. I am a driven, hardworking, and ambitious student so I am positive I will pursue my career. The road to success is never easy, but I am eager to take on the journey. I am very thrilled about what my future holds and feel that with the opportunity your scholarship will provide, I can help many children.

I have had the opportunity to enroll in physiology and human anatomy classes to assist me and further my knowledge of my career path. These types of classes have taught me the parts of the body, human functions, and how they interact. I also like to assist my grandparents as they become older since they can’t get around as easily anymore. This has been a hands-on learning experience which has allowed me to be more patient with others. I have also taken multiple child development courses since it has been a great foundation to study human development. I have attended daycares to observe and write observation papers to see how children interact and behave in their surroundings. At these daycares, I observed various ages of children which allowed me to see the differences in how they develop and interact as they continue to grow older. The more I learned in these classes, the more I became engrossed to care for young children to keep them happy and healthy. Psychology is another course that I have taken several classes on. Pediatricians take of children who range in ages and see various types of illnesses. These courses have helped me understand how the brain develops in young children which will allow me to become a better healthcare provider. I have researched many aspects of this career and I am certain that this is the career I want to seek after.

My inspiration to undergo this journey is from several relatives that have been involved in the medical field for many years. They have provided me with a great amount of understanding in this career. There can be many struggles in situations where it cannot be resolved in an instant, but it is the determination that takes on the roll to come to a conclusion for an issue. I am determined to provide the best care that I can for my patients and make sure they will get all of their questions get answered. I am eager to take on challenges and cases that may not be the easiest, but willing to suffer my time and provide them with the care that they deserve. I received extraordinary care from my parents as a child and that is the kind of care I want to provide my future patients with. Although I know this journey will big one of the biggest challenges in my life, I know that I am up for it. I am ready to be challenged and prove to myself that I can do it.

I have chosen the career to be a pediatrician because I am very passionate about caring for children and making sure they receive the best care that they can possibly obtain. I have always had a strong desire to help people and improve their standard health. From the experience I have had with taking care of my cousins, this directed me to wanting to become a pediatrician. I took care of them when they were at their highest and when they were at their lowest. I enjoy being around and working with children which makes me extremely excited about this field. I believe that I not only have the ability to become an excellent pediatrician, but that I will be friendly, caring, and comforting.

I have always wanted to improve the quality of life and health for individuals. I have always been helpful and caring when it comes down to a relative or friend being sick. I believe the quality of taking care of a sick person to help them recover is crucial for their wellbeing. By providing for a sick person while using the appropriate actions, these actions can ensure that the individual will have a speedy recovery. I feel gratitude when I lend someone else a hand. I believe becoming a pediatrician is suitable for me because I am willing to listen and treat people with empathy and comforting words.
