My Life and Career Goal: Paving the Path to Success
To start with my goal in life short essay, here I will share some important experience in my life. Every other week, my aunt would baby sit my brother and I. She was a sweet, caring woman: she was like a second mother. Whenever I was hurt, physically or emotionally, she was always there to comfort me. My aunt was genuinely an amazing person, but as I grew older, I realized that there were times where she was not herself. One night in my aunt’s apartment, I awoke to violent yelling. The emergency room turned her away. Since there were no available beds left, she was forced to go back home. A fit of rage came upon her, and she screamed for what felt like hours. It was so painful to see my aunt suffer in helplessness. Her sobs began to cease, and a wide-eyed smile was written upon her face. Her hands slowly grabbed for the gun that was waiting for her on the table. Tears of joy began to stream down her face: she was happy that she was about to no longer suffer on this earth. I ran down to stop her, but then bang. Her almost instantly lifeless body fell to the ground. She killed herself. Although the emergency room was a viable mental health care alternative for my aunt, she died that night because of the lack of mental health care institutions. In this “my aims and goals in life essay”it is needed to mention this experience. It influenced my decision to study nursing, in pursuit of one day opening a clinic dedicated to helping those suffering from mental illness like my late aunt.
Within my goal in life is to be successful essay, my career goal is to someday open clinics across the United States dedicated to helping those suffering with mental illness, so they can receive the proper care needed to treat their ailments in hopes that they do not end up in emergency rooms nor prisons: the most common places people with mental illness are found. Aside from their illness, these individuals are still people and should be treated as such: they should not be treated like criminals or lesser beings due to their condition. Due to the lack of mental health care institutions, these people are usually subjected to inadequate treatment and persecution. They deserve to have a place dedicated to helping people like themselves: where they can feel safe. The insecure mental health care system of America has not only made opening clinics dedicated to helping the mentally ill my career goal, but my life goal as well. It is important that these people have a place they know they can go to for help opposed to going to facilities not specialized for them.
To conclude short essay my goals in life paragraph, my educational goal is to study nursing and earn a DNP, so I will be able to open a clinic. It is important that I operate on a personal level with future patients; thus, I feel the best way to start practicing those connections is through studying nursing. Since nursing has a “hands on” approach, it will allow me to build relationships with patients on a more personal level, opposed to doctors who usually do not tend to patients as much as nurses do. Throughout my life, it has been easy for me to establish relationships with others, and it is one of my favorite things to do. Since nursing demands that connection, I feel that I would be great nurse and enjoy my job.
