My Ambition To Build A Professionsl Career In The Field Of Computer Science

"The computer is the most remarkable tool we’ve ever come up with. It’s the equivalent of a bicycle for our minds. " - This quote by Steve Jobs is one of the few statementsthat reflects the potential of the computer. I had an analogous feeling when I first used acomputer at the age of 10. Although I initially used it for playing games, when I began to explore my computer and I speculated what one can do with the computer and its technologies.

That’s what made me till today to pursue my dream in this field of computer science to achieve something for greater good of humanity. We are changing the world with technology. I am very excited at the prospect of devoting my long-term career to such a dynamic, fast advancing field. Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed dabbling with computers and experimenting with different applications. It was natural for me to choose Computer Science as my university major, and now, as I near the end of my undergraduate studies, it is my central goal to continue my education in a more competitive, elite, and international environment like Rivier University.

I’m a right brainer, I have been always imaginative and I’ve holistic thinking. Since my childhood, I’m a fanatic of technology. I used to spend lot of time checking innovations and listen to the creative ideas of the others. They have greater impact on me and make me want todo something new and refreshing on my own. I’ve always found my inspiration in the work ofgreats who reached pinnacle by doing things in the way they like. To do things I like, I’d liketo think that staying out of comfort zones is sometimes necessary to do work as you like. I think my age is certain to pursue dreams which dreamt as a child. It was my step forward to complete Master’s degree in esteemed university.

As a high school student, I excelled in courses related to physics, mathematics, and chemistry. I got tremendous chance to study my undergraduate course in one of the top 10 colleges of our state. I rate the four years of study at the engineering college among the best years of my life. I’ve also been consistent in performing well in academics in my undergraduate study. My academic experience thus far has provided me with a wide range of practical knowledge and skills that will be immensely useful when studying overseas at the graduate level. With my strong mathematics background, I performed very well in courses concerning calculus, statistics, and differential equations. As an undergraduate, I spent a lot of time in the computer laboratory learning programming languages and also concepts of hardware technology and the components that make up a computer. I found that I deeply enjoyed learning about programming because I used to find the reason behind a particular code which in a way helps me in deeper understanding of the problem.

In addition to the courses that I have taken, I have been very active outside of the classroom, participating in extracurricular activities and pursuing new experiences so asto push myself and broaden my horizons. I’m comfortable adapting to new situations and interacting with people who are different from me, qualities which will be tremendously useful when studying in the USA. Furthermore, what I most value is my new found understanding of the importance of service and helping those in need. I am highly motivated and proactive atlearning new skills and experiencing new things. This is precisely why I have decided to continue challenging myself by studying for a master’s degree in the USA.
