My Personal, Academic And Career Purposes
There are certain goals that I want to achieve to become successful in life. I have different kinds of purposes such as personal, academic, and career purposes. My purpose statement is to live a comfortable, memory-making life and be known for providing compassionate care to people and make a difference in their lives. My personal Purpose is to buy my dream home, find my lifelong partner, and have a family of my own. My Academic purpose is to get accepted into the nursing program at Valencia College and obtain a bachelor’s degree in science. My career purpose is to be a Registered Nurse and work in a hospital where I can use my nursing skills and knowledge to provide care and treat patients equally. Without any goals, I would have no aspiration to become successful. I set these goals for myself so that I can live a comfortable, happy, well-supported way of life.
In achieving my personal goal, I decided now is the time to start working on my personal life goals. Everyone loves to dream a fantasize about their dream house but I wanted to do more than just that so I decided to start to plan and begin the process and turning my dreams into reality so I can be set for the future. I started to determine my ideal location as of where I want to live and what my home should look like. Having a family of my own is included in my personal goal so, I am determined that I want children in the future at some point, so I decided to plan a home that has space and facilities for a family of the size that I want. I also recently got a secured credit card and became an authorized user so that I can get credit for bills that I pay so in the future my credit can be high when I’m ready to buy my dream house. I started a savings account associated with my bank so that I can save money towards my dream house. In finding my lifelong partner I will go on many different dates with each person and I will then weigh out my options with the best person that matches my preferences and we will then plan to start our own family together.
In achieving my Academic goal, I am now attending Valencia College where I am completing the required classes to receive admission into the nursing program. The classes that are required are BSC Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, MCB Microbiology, PSY General Psychology, DEP Developmental Psychology, ENC Freshman Composition, HUN Essentials of Nutrition with Diet Therapy, and Humanities. I will be taking PSY General Psychology in the second semester of Spring 2020. I am also completing my general studies and making progress slowly. After I complete all required and mandatory classes, I will then attend a Health Sciences Information Session, Satisfy the Valencia entry testing requirements, have a minimum overall college GPA of 3. 0, and complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). The nursing program will prepare me to go directly into a specialized career in the nursing field. I am positive the nursing program is the best thing for me because it will prepare me for a nursing career by connecting me to situations nurses face today and it will teach me real-life lessons to help me build the skills and confidence that I need.
In achieving my career goals, I will pursue my career working in a hospital. I will choose the best hospital to work at which I am not sure where. I want to work in a large hospital environment because it will give me opportunities to expand my knowledge through training and working with experts. I will be able to gain valuable experience and I will take the time out to get to know the patients, doctors, and my colleagues on a personal level. I want to pursue my nursing career working in a hospital because when I was younger, I was always in and out of hospitals repeatedly because of my health problems.
Throughout my journey in the hospitals, I became inspired by my nurse’s ability to intercede for me by understanding my needs, making me feel comfortable, and administering care when I needed it. As I grew older, it became obvious to me that nursing was the perfect fit between my passion for helping sick people and giving back the same care that I received when I was younger. Throughout my childhood and my life, I was desperate and determined to be successful and prove everyone different than what they thought of me. Achieving all of my personal, academic and career purposes will make me become the independent woman whom I aspire to be.
