My Potential To Join Industrial Engineering And System Management Bachelor Programme
My name is Elianne Mae B Genteroy and I am applying for the Industrial Engineering and System Management Bachelor Programme at Jönköping University. I was born in the Philippines but I grew up in the United Arab Emirates. I was searching for University Programmes in Sweden and I came upon Jönköping University. Reading the information on the University webpage had piqued my interest in this program. A degree from Sweden’s prestigious and respected universities would give me an opportunity to widen my range of knowledge, practical skills, and theoretical skills. I believe that this program will kick start my profession as an Engineer.
I recently completed my high school studies last June 19th, 2018 from Horizon Private School (American Curriculum). During the four years of high school, I aimed for subjects specializing on the sciences relating to the major I want to take. I took advanced courses in Math, Physics, and Chemistry every year to test my skills and prepare me for University. Though the workload I had to do was considerably large for a high school student, I strived through the formidable challenges that each subject had to offer. Nevertheless, I gave my best to receive the grades I worked hard for, thanks to my determination, motivation, and commitment. Living in the U. A. E. , a country that welcomes people of different backgrounds; I have met people of different cultures, races, and nationalities at a young age. Growing up, I had been exposed to an environment of diversity, which made me adapt to diverse individuals. Studying in an International school, I made friends with multicultural groups of people, recognizing and learning about cultures through my daily interactions with my classmates. Enhancing my social and communication skills with people from different nationalities.
In grades 11 and 12, I was able to join science fairs and competitions, in and outside our school. I led my group in the exhibitions to receive a perfect score and rewards for my group through our communication and teamwork. The social skills I have will certainly benefit me when I need to work in groups in my studies at your university.
U. A. E. and the Philippines, both offer a similar programme; however, these learning institutions may not provide the quality education I need. During my parents trip to Sweden last year, they checked on the educational system in Sweden. The standard of teaching in Sweden is relatively high aside from being internationally recognized all over the world. My father, a Mechanical Engineer currently works as Engineering Technical Instructor in one of the most prestigious oil and gas companies in the UAE. My parents believe that they have enough financial capability to support me in my studies in Sweden. In their anticipation of my acceptance to Jönköping University, we recently purchased a house in Bruzaholm, an hour drive to the university. My aunt (mother’s sister) lives in Stockholm and she has assured us that she will provide any support and assistance if ever I need them.
My dream is to provide solutions to everyday problems in every way possible. Just like any Engineer, they innovate machines and improve the quality of the product. I see myself to be the same innovative and highly specialized engineer after I completed my studies in your university. If I am fortunate to be admitted in Jönköping University, the engineering education that the university will provide serve as a great opportunity to enhance my knowledge, theoretical and practical skills and an in-depth understanding of the social and cultural aspects of Sweden. I appreciate your consideration and acceptance of my application.
