The Mars Mission Is Closer Than We Think

Earth’s mission to mars involving human arrival and colonization resided in the imagination of scientific exploration for generations: until now. NASA, along with other independently owned space programs have planned to soar and land on Mars, with future hopes of settling on and domestically creating the planet like our very own. The exploration of Mars has been a hot topic throughout the scientific community and among average people who have signed up for a chance to one day visit the red planet.

In recent years, NASA has been asking ordinary people who are willing to risk their lives and leave everything behind to go to the red planet in the 2030’s. Many organizations have now entered the new space race for mars. Companies like Blue Origin, Space X, and Boeing have entered the race to mars through the private sector. These companies will be hired by NASA to carry out missions. SpaceX, however, also plans on sending people to mars through commercial flight before NASA even gets there in the mid 2020’s. This means a private company may send the first humans to Mars. In more recent years (more specifically the 2010s) several American, European, and Asian space programs have specifically and precisely developed numerous proposals for humankind’s exploration to Mars. Now creating and experimenting with these technological advancements, humans are set to arrive on the red dusty planet as soon as the mid-early 2020’s.

An example of advancements towards Mars is the Mars One mission. This astronomical mission strives towards establishing an everlasting biological community on the planet. Various missions in our upcoming future are inevitable and soon to be completed, creating a habitable settlement for man. Though planned and ready to begin this campaign, the funding aspect and putting forth this plan into action will be difficult due to the unknown challenges that lie ahead of mankind’s ultimate goals. The team facing the Mars One mission, along with its advisers and aerospace corporations are set to evaluate and calculate the risks and overcome the safest strategies step by step. Mars One is a global initiative whose goal is to not only have scientists' journey through the alien red planet, it’s everyone’s mission to Mars in hope of mankind’s colonization for a better life to come. Getting out of the Earth’s atmosphere is not an easy task. This is a problem that can make or break a mars mission. The consumption of fuel as you leave Earth's atmosphere is highly immense and costly. To counteract these issues, scientists needed to think big; and that they did. A way to refuel before setting off to the red planet is by using a gas station. But hold on you're probably wondering where the Sonoco is in space. Well there isn't one, so we must make our own. Scientists have proposed a Lunar pitstop that would allow a space craft to regain its lost fuel, meaning ships can be smaller and more cost efficient. Astronauts may one day pick up hot dogs from a lunar gas station. The mars mission is closer than most people think, and it will surely be one of the most important steps in human evolution. The only question now is; are you going to be a part of it?
