Understanding Of Who I Am
Growing up these last few years, I would like to think that I have matured from all that I have been through. Beyond the long brown hair and big brown eyes, I am athletic, very religious, caring, and I value my relationships. Getting into sports later than all my classmates, I only play two sports. Softball and volleyball are the two sports, but volleyball is my favorite. In sports, I am very driven and have a lot of self-discipline. Every time I step on the court or field, I want play to the best of my ability. Granted everyone makes mistakes, I am very hard on myself when I do make a mistake.
Since I am older, I can control my anger when I mess up, but when I was younger it was very hard for me to do so. Sportsmanship is a big factor in sports for me, because you can be the best athlete on the field, but if you are treating others without respect, then you are just as good as the worst player on the field.
Being raised in a Christian home, I am a Baptist. I believe that God created this world and that there is a Heaven and Hell. That’s not to say that if you believe something different I’m going to want nothing to do with you. I might not agree, but I will still treat you like I would any other person. Many times, people will have one encounter with a Christian and want nothing to do with them, but what people don't realize is that not all people are the same. I try my best to glorify God in everything I do, but I am not perfect by any means. I will not judge you for what you do, because I am a sinner as well. Unless I am perfect than I have no right to judge others, so I worry about myself and my own mistakes. Living with a big family, it is nailed into my brain that all people are good until they do you wrong. Even after people do me wrong I will still go to the end of the earth for them. We have always welcomed anyone into my house as if it was their own house, and our doors are always open for our loved ones when they need help. When I have my own house it will be the same way, as long as they are doing their best to get back on their feet they can stay with me as long as they need. I will care for anyone and everyone, but I also don’t like conflict. I will do everything in my power to avoid arguing with the people I love.
The relationships I have with family and friends are one of the most important things to me. I will do whatever it is I have to do for my loved ones and at the drop of a pen. No matter what time of the night it is, anyone who knows me, knows they can call and I will be wherever it is that they need me. Family are the people who stay in life even when you go through hard times and push them away. When I say family, I don’t mean physically related, I mean that it is someone I love. My best friends are my family even though they aren’t blood related. I have many friendships, but I love the ones that I’m not as close to just as much as I love the close ones.
In conclusion, I am not who many people think I am, unless you get to know me. Sometimes in life, we tend to jump to conclusions just from the look of things. One thing I have learned growing up is that you never judge a book by its cover, what might be dusty on the outside can have amazing things on the inside.
